How recent was it supposed to have burned? If it was very recent (like within a day or so) there would be some yellowing and drying of the grass right around the building but the grass would return back fairly quickly too. Within a week typically the area outside the building would be more or less clean with only the burnt remains of the building showing as a scar

Well, the wooden Timbers inside the stone frame could have rotted out and caused damage like that. It looks (currently) more like damage from being run down than being burned. Though just adding some soot to the exposed wood would instantly change that
