#Are AK Varnish consistencies supposed to be that different?

I absolutely love AK ultra matte varnish, its basically as thin as water and has an extremely matte effect.
I got into the habbit of using it as acryllic medium, to matte down inks and even to thin paints down a little for airbrushing.
Now of course you dont necessarily want it this matte all the time so i figured i'd get AKs Satin Varnish too.
But that stuff is the usual pudding varnish that splutters and splotches undilluted.

Now i wonder how the ultra matte one can be so nice and thin and the satin is goey like that.
Did I by chance get a old bottle and the varnish has clotted?

Anybody here also has the AK varnish range and can confirm thats how they are?

I have several varnishes from AK:

  • AK 3rd gen Mat and Gloss
  • AK Ultra Matte
There are more that I don't have:
  • AK 3rd gen Ultra Matte
  • AK Mat, Satin and Gloss.

But from those I have, I confirm that the 3rd Gen Matte and Gloss are much more thicker than the Ultra Matte and need to be thinned down a bit.
