Do you brace your hands? That is important even for people without shakes hands.

#

Someone posted a good video on it. I'll hunt it down and repost

are you using the tip or the sides of the brush

#

if you can't adjust your chair, you can always put stuff on the chair or table to add elevation to yourself or your workspace

#

when I'm forced to use the tip, I hold the model so I can paint along the edge using only a pulling motion

#

idk what would be best for you but do you optimise your positioning so you can paint the edge using only your most stable motion?

#

if not, experiment with which type of stroke you can paint the straightest line with, with the smallest amount of overpressure

#

then orient your mini so you can use only that for edges you must use the tip for

Hey @dire fox apart from all above great stuff don’t forget that even super seasoned painters will have to clean up their highlights here and there with the basecoat color. Get used to it and don’t see it as a oh well fuck it’s crap now. Just fix it boss!

Hi, in addition to what has already been commented by friends previously, could I add that the paint seems a little too diluted, try the paint practically straight from the pot, by the way what paints are you using? Unload the brush beforehand as this also helps with brushstroke control.

Two things I haven't seen mentioned yet.

You need a good brush with a sharp tip. Edge highlighting with a cheap, hooked synthetic is going to be an uphill battle.

And secondly, practice and repetition. This is difficult and there are only so many "tricks". You will probably need to do this many, many times before you get there.
