They're essentially British Redcoats but 40k 😂 (not my pictures hut shows you what the oldhammer Praetorians looked like I'm just putting my own spin on with the new shocktroopers)

ah yeah, guard had so many different troops during oldhammer times. In yours, maybe the pants are a bit too bright? at least compared with these.

Dya know what I think you're right might shift to a darker blue currently using Citadels Mcragge Blue because that's all I've got but I'm going to buy more paints tomorrow

you might be able to tone it down by mixing Mcragge and a bit of black, and applying a glaze. Then build back up highlights with a greyish blue
