I primed and started painting a 3D Resin printed miniature. I noticed that the paint was sticky to touch even after several days. I primed several figures with Army Painter Matt Grey airbrush primer (using an airbrush) and I'm hesitant to start painting them until I know what caused the stickiness. The paint on the first figure was Tamiya acrylic applied with a brush. Anyone have an thoughts?
#Sticky Paint on 3D printed mini

- Was the print properly washed? If it wasn't or had drain holes that continued to leak, that is sticky.
- Tamiya is a solvent based paint and you don't want to brush it on. It has an alcohol solvent which will agitate any other acrylic layers under it when you use a brush. Maybe this led to tackiness
- Washed? As far as I can tell, yes, it was washed. I'm going to wash my other printed figures more before I paint them.
