#AP air paints vs speedpaints for airbrush
17 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Just get regular paint and thinner (assuming you are buying paint for both brush and airbrush application).
Well I just don't wanna think lol
Air paints sometimes need thinning
So it’s not just throwing em in there and they automatically work great
A lot of people love speed paints through airbrush, I haven’t experimented much with it but it’s not really for the same purpose as an air/regular paint.
Since they’re so translucent they’re not gonna give full coverage
Best is to just get used to thinning regular paints, it’s not that hard. Start with a ratio of like 3 thinner 1 paint and see what works. All paints are different so different paints need different ratios.
Yeah chiming in to basically confirm what has been said, you're going to get soooo much more out of your airbrush if you know how to thin the paints, and you'll save money as well when you don't have to buy the prethinned stuff where you basically just get less paint for the same amount of money
Speed paints tend to behave the same way as thinned inks, which means they're transparent and you can't really use them to cover up anything. So you generally use them on top of a zenithal, add shadows or just to tint something a bit
So not really great for basecoating things for example
Thanks guys!!! This really helps!!! Really it's most of my stuff is in citadel pots and it suuuucks compared to droppers, so I just gotta start replacing slowly w droppers so it's easier to mix than like, glopping it with a brush or whatever
Thanks all
Appreciate it!!!!
Mix here first then pour it in, can also work and help you learn the consistency
