That's my first space marine I have ever painted. I wanted to go for the classical look but the blue might be too bright and I still don't have an idea how to paint the weapon, so it looks good. He still needs to be properly finished overall. What do you guys think?

Hey first up bro, nice job! The coats aren't professional level but still very good for a first time. In terms of small details 👌. Don't worry about the colour scheme of weapons as much. I will say when dealing with the vents and small things like that use a watered down paint to pool into those areas. You will need to do multiple coats of it and if there is some leakage just paint over them with the main base colour.

Just to add to POssems comment, You could build up a bit of highlights and shadows to give the miniature more dimension but otherwise

Yeah, he could use some highlights and I need to fix some of the recesses. I actually need to wait for another painting workshop to properly finish him because the lads agreed to not touch the minis until the next one 😄
