I think a bit of color contrast would help here. Maybe make some of the metal gold/bronze/brass? Or render the background in some kind of warm leather color?

I wanted this side to be cool (and feel almost moonlit) to contrast against the warm front though there's some warm rust and dirt as well as warm light from below in there intended to contrast against the blue. I'm guessing it's not showing enough... perhaps it will when the metal in the lower side is painted though

saturation got a bit weird in these photos though... tried scaling down over exposure in post to get a more consistent result (rather than hipshooting it per shot) but that made things a bit screwy
