Love the model so far! Especially the feathers. For the sword I'd reccomend holding a kitchen knife IRL and paying attention to how light interacts with it. You can really go pretty much any way you want with metal as long as you keep the transitions strong and somewhat sharp, but outside of going to a HEMA convention, your cookware is probably the closest references you'll be able to find irl
