#Help me conquer my decision paralysis on decorating my Outrider bikes!

I'm trying to paint up my squad of Outriders to go with my homebrew chapter, and I want to do the regular method of putting their chapter symbol on the sides of the bikes. I even have custom-made waterslide decals for their symbol. But the problem is, the symbols are printed in black, and I don't want to slap a dark symbol over a dark, cool-toned background. (I paint their pauldrons in a warm ochre color, so they work better there.) Here are some options I've been thinking about:

  1. Paint the entire side panel of the bike in the ochre before putting down the symbol. I don't like this idea very much, I think that would make the whole model look too busy.

  2. Print out new chapter symbols that have an outline or a background. This would be fine, but I'm leaning towards a background that goes along with the pauldron color, and I'd need to color match them pretty well. And that still doesn't guarantee that they'll print out in the exact tone. Still, might be worth a shot.

  3. Use circular stencils to paint ochre backgrounds onto the side panels before putting on the symbols. I really wanted to try this, but I can't find stencils that are the right size, and I don't have access to a cricut machine or anything to make my own. And my freehand skills are nowhere near good enough to feel comfortable going without a stencil.

Does anyone have any other thoughts? I'd really appreciate some feedback, I've had this squad in my backlog for forever.

By the way, here's what my pauldrons and chapter symbol look like, in case it helps to see what I'm working with.

i really like stripes on bikes, may be thick diagonal line as a backdrop plus two thin lines on each side will look nice
