Advice on shading gold

Asked about shading gold with airbrush the other day, and what colors to use. A couple of people seemed to like the idea of shading it with purple, including me 😄 So I tried that. I used a very thin Liquitex - deep violet ink, but I kinda think it looks a bit weird. Not sure if I did it right. What do you think?

It looks neat, what really helps sell that is redoing the highlights it'll look great after that

Do the squiggly bits with the original gold and the shade will blend
