Hiya :)
so I thought I'd upgrade my wet palette from a big A4 sized tupperware to a smaller 'proper' one, which ended up being the army painter wet palette. This thing lets my paint dry out overnight like it's getting paid to! I do remember to close it.. I assumed it would have a rubber seal.. like literally any tupperware does.
Not a big deal, and I'm guessing there's nothing you can do about it, but anyone have any ideas how to improve how long it remains wet for?
It's still a bit wet in the morning, just the paint dries.
Cheers

Again, definitely a stab in the dark and I doubt there's much that can be done about it, just thought it couldn't harm to ask. Thanks
Keeping it in the fridge is good practice to avoid mold growth, it may also prevent a little paint from drying but you will still get paint drying even after only 24h. My understanding is that you cannot really work with the same paint droplets for different days. Wet palette allows you to work with it confortably for as long as your paint session lasts, which is not too bad already.
I let other users correct me if I am wrong, since I don't own a fancy brand named wet palette myself, merely the DIY tupperware kind of stuff you also had but this is what I read about it over the past.
having a large palette surface is also a plus of this kind of product which may justify buying one I suppose.
Are you using the AP paper or parchment paper? Might just need to get more water on the sponge before you seal it. But as marbull said, contrary to popular belief, wet palettes aren't meant to keep your paint useable for days. Usually people have the problem of the paints being over hydrating after sealing up the palettes.
Ahh okay fair enough. I've been using the supplied AP paper.
Definitely dries out faster than the old, larger DIY tupperware. Usually I have the problem where I've put too much water and the green has taken up half the palette, but even then that's usually dried out by morning lol. But hey, no worries. Thank you both for the replies.
You could put some Saran wrap over it before closing it up, which would help the seal. For the trouble it seems the diy pallet is worth it though lol
I use a Masterson currently, previously a sandwich container. Anytime it was drying out was because of lack of water and low humidity due to heat running, etc. No issues usually when the palette was closed and the Masterson has the worst seal
