I've watched a few videos on the performance of the new formula vallejo paints so I bought some for myself to play with. Wondering if anyone else has gotten any and what they think of them? Also wondering if it's true that you don't really need to thin it down with water? Heard conflicting things.

I have 25 of them.
They are good paints. Nothing revolutionary, but far better than the older formulation.
For the colours I have, coverage is good, except for the fluo blue but that's expected.
Regarding thinning, they are definitely thinner than the Model Colours, more comparable to AK 3rd gen or Reaper MSP core. I still think you need to thin them a bit.

I've only ever used citadel paints because I'm fairly new to the hobby, I got the starter paint kit and I've been using that for awhile now but I wanted to make the investment into something else. I always struggle to get my paint thinned right so I'm hoping these are a bit easier to work with, good to know they're good so far though!

I agree 100% with the friend @peak ruin comment, I used few colors from the new formulation of the new GC line. But it seemed like an improvement. Better for glazing than Model Color. I like the AK and Citadel better after Reaper and ProAcryl, with the airbrush I've been using the Game Air a lot. At the end, it ends up influencing the way each one uses it and this must also be considered and is more difficult to predict, you have to experiment a sample…
