When i try thinning for glazes I just get this watery breakup on my wet palette, seems different than vids I've seen. And even super thin it seems to obscure details /give this fuzzy texture. Using army painter starter kit.

Hello Eduard. Army painter paints are a bit low quality and when you thin is where it shows the most...
Having said that, what I see on your palette isn't necessarily a problem (if we are talking of the skin colour?). Remember to "unload" your brush by touching the paper towel before touching the mini, it helps avoid spider webs.

I'm not sure which part you show with obscuring details on the picture? The red?

Some paints have very opaque pigments and will be very hard to glaze (like white and light colours that actually contain white pigment). In that case, you will need to glaze "back down" around the light color.

You could also use a mix of water + acrylic medium to help the paint to separate less. It won't solve everything but I'm told some people find it easier to use.

Letting you reply to discuss further.

Part of your texture looks like it could be from the primer layer, another contributing factor can be overworking the acrylic paint after it starts to dry. This happens when the paint starts to dry and you brush over it, ripping the paint surface. This can be avoided by making sure layers are completely dry before going back over them (you have a little bit on working time when applying the paint, but if you are in a dry area or find you need more working time, a drying retarder helps. However that may not be the issue.. if you think it's dry and go back in to find it's not and rip the layer that way).

And as Yan mentioned, watery paint will overload the brush, so you need to wick some of it out on a piece of paper towel before applying to the model.

Can you confirm that texture wasn’t there after priming? Looks like rattle can primer either not having been shaken enough or it being too dry/far away from the mini so it starts dying mid air
