Hi all, this is my first serious attempt at doing NMM, and I've actually managed to impress myself with the patience it took to get to this point. Wondering if anyone here can give me some good feedback, especially as to how I've placed my highlights.

I do really like how it turned out, though I know it doesn't really fit the aesthetic of Darkest Dungeon, which this mini is from. If anyone has any recommendations as to how I could "dull" this down a bit, please let me know.

Thank you!

Same that looks great for a first serious attempt!!!

Is there a reason you want to fill it down?

yeah, for context, this mini is from the darkest dungeon board game, which is based on a video games with a very specific artstyle, picture for context:

while i think my attempt is pretty good for nmm in general, i dont think it really fits the aesthetic im trying to match

You can always stain the steel with glaze/shades

The big thing to do here as you got the light placement right is to darken it. A Payne’s grey can do really well if you want to keep the blue look. Otherwise a transparent black glaze could help. That would save you from repainting it

To achieve that darkest dungeon type effect you’d want to increase the shadow and midtone, making the highlights quite small

The spear point actually looks a bit closer to what you’re looking for
