I've been working on this mini for a friend. She wanted the cape to transition from dark to lighter blue. I decided to start dark and use glaze medium with lighter tones to work up.
However, the layers feel patchy (there was a bit of moisture rejection from the mini when i started glazing, not sure why). Any suggestions or tips to get a better effect? The last thing i tried, and i feel like it helped to unify, was to glaze an intermediate tone over everything just to draw it together more.

Glazing typically works better light to dark. You’ll be building layers for a long time if you’ve diluted your paint

What I would do at this point would be block the end of the cloak in your lightest blue and then glaze your dark blue to blend the two
