#Basing Ideas?

I’m working on a batch of Genestealers and I’m happy with how they’re coming out, but I’m not sure what color to use on the base to set off the mini.

They’re black with bright yellow green accents. My lazy standard is just a dark grey base, but I think these will really blend into a dark base. But I’m not sure what to do for a brighter base. Any suggestions for pairing a nice basing scheme to the back/green?

I’m open to general feedback on the paint scheme as well, but I’m trying to keep them fairly quick while still practicing layering.

Thanks in advance!

I think you accidentally made 5 threads

You are correct. I kept getting an error message, but apparently it was going through. Trying to delete them now.

Think they should be gone.

They are. Yeah i think the threads can be a little buggy. I think its funny. As for basing you mini. You could ask yourself a couple questions. Is it fighting on its home turf, or on forieng ground

I don’t care as much for theme, I’m just trying to think of a base scheme that would complement the paint job. Like light tan bases look great with dark blue minis, or dark bases can set off very bright minis

You could go for a dark cavey lookong base and really push the highlights of the yellow. Bioluminecent monsters in the dark

Maybe try a couple of different things on some spare bases and see what you like best

That’s not a bad idea, though bioluminescence makes me think osl, which I don’t think I want to tackle on this. I may lean into the dark like you’re suggesting though

Blue ice bases would be really cool too

Or something with purple

Or cave like with purple and blue dry brushing to look like crystals

Like so
