#Mask or respirator in combination with wearing glasses.

I have a spray paint respirator. But it's pretty big and clumsy so I don't wear my glasses with it while I use a rattlecan primer. I just bought an airbrush but after doing some more research it is recommended to also wear a mask while airbrushing. However, now I am in need for a solution to the glasses problem. I can't wear contacts. So are there any glasses friendly painting masks or respirators out there?

Most half mask are compatible with wearing glasses/safety glasses.

I just checked. I have a 6200. But compatible means the glasses can sit on the mask or behind it on your nose? Because with this one I have have it on the mask and it does feel rather awkward.

🤔 I have a 6500 and the mask doesn't go higher than half the nose. So no issue for having my glasses on top of the nose

my 6200 goes all the way over my nose. But maybe it's a nose vs mask thing. I also thought that was intended to great a better seal 🤷‍♂️

#

that's why I also never wore glasses with it

There are completely face covering masks that you plug into a fan

#

They’re the only thing that works well if you have a beard

#

We use them within construction work that creates a lot of dust

#

Something like this. They’re not cheap though.

#

If you plan on using it a lot it’s probably worth it since nothing compares to it in terms of particles prevented from reaching your lungs.

Tbh I'm debating returning the airbrush until I figure something out that works for the safety part. Comfort a big thing for me and to be honest I kinda planned on just wearing a simple dust mask under my glasses. I've not seen any of the big youtubers use a full on paint mask to airbrush. And even when rattlecanning I don't always get great results because I do it without my glasses. But a rattlecan is like 15 euro's.

If you're planning on using only water-based paints, an FFP3 mask will be enough.
But I really don't understand the problem: these half masks are made for being used with glasses. We're using them at work and I've never heard of a complaint that they mess with wearing glasses. And on the workfloor wearing safety glasses is mandatory.
