Done o/ tried doing NMM Armor in the same color cause of the PAL rules and to see if I could make it work. I am quite pleased even though it's rough, especially the belt. That was a fun experience

Which is pretty shiny. Argh. Not the most forgiving paint. or maybe.
It was main colour, right, not only colour? and I can mix it a little here and there for effects? as long as the main colour is, well, main?

The lil'alien wormdude, a quick search confirms it to be a Heartbreaker Hobbies 311 Earthdawn "Horror B". Mostly painted with Instar Alpha Deep Red. A colour I seldom use because it is too glossy for my taste. Which is too bad, as it paints well.

thanks! I think the color transitions are mostly smooth, but the physical texture is rough as hell due to a previous drybrushing step which in hindsight I didn't need 🙈 He's still very WIP, but heading in the right direction i think

i was disappointed to draw yellow as my main color as I was hoping to do nmm in basically any other color. But at least I can stick to my magenta+yellow limited palette obsession. He's not sporting much straight-up cadmium yellow. It's mostly warmed up with varying levels of magenta and then desaturated with varying levels of white. I will try to sneak in some unmixed yellow somewhere though 🙂

You could of used the yellow to do golden NMM but your piece is looking great either way

Thanks! I’m trying to improve my glazing game. So almost entirely palette mixing and thin glazes. Did a little wet blending here and there but very little.

I started at purple and worked across the color wheel to yellow

I have 4 of them. All 4 sculpted by Steven Buddle (spyglass miniatures, games workshop and some others). He made the second series. Been discontinued for a long time. Dont recall where i got then almost 18 years ago. He might even have send me some of these himself.

Started blocking in some colors. Rainbow and keeping everything readable and balanced... Not an easy task on this scale. Figuring out where to put what color. The wings will also be rainbow. Not sure what i will do for the weapons.

Problem with making the weapons and also the wings rainbow to is that there will be to much rainbow everywhere, making the figure harder to read with no focal points, and the rainbow will pop less with nothing to offset it. And set the rainbow parts apart so not everything will bleef together.

Oh my, just added the nailpolish. The whole figurine starts to look like a clairs-hippy-tiedye-rainbow-fever-dream ... Yet somehow works.

Have to be content with just 2 layers of the polish or it will go from sword to gloopy mess.
