The word Eten actually derives from Old English term for "giant, troll, ogre" and Ettins refer to two-headed trolls in Tolkien's world

Did some more research as well. Troll is apparently a specific word used to refer to male Ettin (Jotun)

I'm Norwegian and as far as I know, Trolls don't really appear in the folklore until after the Norse mythology period had changed to Christianity. I think it would be more correct to say that trolls occupy the same role as the jotuns did earlier - dangerous boogeyman beings of the unknown darkness and wild dangerous places outside human settlements.
That said, that Ettin model would be recognized as a troll in Norway.

Yeah I guess that’s it. We just kinda “soft join” by posting in the thread. And we “quiet quit” by unfollowing. That’s fine but there’s no outward indication to anyone else that you’re un-joining.

Still I like the threads a lot more than the previous role stuff so no shade.

It was hard to see who had signed up previously. With this, at least on the computer, you can see who's following by looking at the people on the right side. I think manners would say that you announce your decision to join and thus to leave if you leave early.
And I like this format more than the previous one. This way I can follow just the PAL's I want to and can easily find the other posts for them.

Put a few coats of gsw dipping ink on the flesh of mine. I will work the flesh more but I'm really liking the result so far. Started with goth skin and then two layers of limelight.

The look more like goblins to me, but I have a ton of goblins to do too, maybe we could do a goblin along if someone wants to? Maybe like 5 goblins (small) or 3 (medium) 1 large (like a goblin bust or king) for it? Someone else can weigh in if they're troll-ish too lol. If you're interested in goblin along we can post in #paint-along-organization and see if we can trick someone else to joining us

slight progress. I had to glue the bracing pin under the knee as it kept falling out, making the whole thing bend over. The early rubbery Bones PVC is not strong enough to hold this model straight with just the thin legs at the back.
also added putty to smooth out the base. Now to let it dry properly and finish it tomorrow.
