#Acetone not removing paint?

So I'm trying to remove paint from some fairly old pre-painted miniatures and am having a doozy of a time removing it. I actually jumped to acetone (though it was nail polish remover so not pure acetone) and the paint didn't budge at all. I'm currently trying a less aggressive method with soaking it in simple green, but I have a hard time believing it'll come off. Any suggestions? I'm unsure what kind of paint it could be, but have never experienced acetone not doing anything.

I haven't tried it, but IPA has been recommended to me. I use Simple Green, but I have been told that IPA works faster and more thoroughly

Just a side note. If you aren't using pure acetone, it's trash ( normal nail polish remove barely manages to remove my nail polish and won't even budge if It has glitter) 😅

But everyone has talked about using IPA or like the simple green

IPA works brilliantly, let it soak for half an hour, scrub it with a toothbrush and soak it again to get the last few bits off
