There is arena where things could be practised, yes, ...
... but there is nothing where things would be explained!!!! In tutorial there is only attacking and kicking ... not even attack cancelling.
So, my proposal is to add a few stations/spots to the arena or tutorial, where if standing in these spots, a message would appear about how exactly a PvP mechanic works
Meaning ... having spots for the following and more:
- attacking
- blocking + how wide the block angle is
- shield breaking
- feinting/attack cancelling
- kicking + when to kick (maybe evenspin kick)
- chambering
- shield bashing
- ammunition
- bow damage modifiers (especially armor heavyness)
- throwing
- proper T5 armor examples NPCs to hit to try out the effectiveness of different damage types (currently there are those dummies... but those have armor type Door)
- stamina consumption
- horses and their counters
- couching and bracing, dismounting, damage from horseback
- (attributes even?)
- (sieging and and roles of ballistas?)
This is quite a cheap thing in dev-time if done just as simple pop-ups... and it will help new player experience greatly.
Also, adding this to arena instead of tutorial allows players to return to this if needed!
... thus the first thing in tutorial could be ... hey peasant, go get some training in the training grounds (arena) first
(The pop-up messages can be written by the community to save dev time)
