Now that multiplayer seems to be working, I'd love to have a role to ping in this server to play maps for various game modes with other people. I mostly play surf and b-hop, and so does my friend. We'd love to make lobbies and get a bunch of people together!

i think a role would be a bit excessive because of the 10 gamemodes, we'd need a role per gamemode and then some
you can always just post in the corresponding #general-gamemode channel instead
you can also post lobby links straight from the game in there that people can just click to join too

Idk! I just figured it seems like there should be more of a community building goal here in the server. What about hosting nights for various gamemodes?

possibly in the future sure. with the game being in closed alpha it's not the highest priority
there are lots of ideas we have in terms of game features to help get that more social aspect back since there are no dedicated servers
public lobbies, roaming lobbies, stuff like that. its been talked about in the various qnas
so extending that more to the discord is possible, just hasn't been thought through too thoroughly yet
