Can you change the behaviour of ESC so that when the console is active, that the console AND the gamemenu is closed.
Or is it possible to just open the console without the gamemenu?

The latter is probably what we'll strive for

If you're in settings, then change something in console and then press esc it shouldn't close the main menu

i wonder if the console could just function like it does in other source games where if you had console open in the menu it remains in the menu

even after you leave/come back. i also think just opening console at all opens the menu with it

like this is me toggling between pressing tilde and escape

i think that does make sense for games where opening the menu pauses the game
