Base stations out of production?

Bigscreen official recommendation is to buy SteamVR base station in the steam store. They are “out of stock” (US store), and I am reading they are out of production. While I want to buy a BSB 2, I am not doing it right now because of this uncertain future of the platform, with Valve seemingly focusing on Deckard right now and just selling off the old Index stuff. What plans does Big Screen have with respect to Base Station availability?

HTC is still manufacturing Base Stations, and they can be found on Amazon and a couple other places.
