omp does the exact same thing as SA-MP does.
Meaning if you convert to omp without changing your gamemmode and scripts, there won't be any difference in gameplay

because you'll still use the SA-MP client to connect to it

there's a catch, though

your scripts will work the same, but if you want to use the updated functions and compiler, you will have to change your code.

you don't have to do that, because again, the compiled scripts will work just the same.

the team is still working on a new client. Once that gets released, more interesting updates will be possible in the future.
