You can restrict this behavior by blocking what channels commands can be used in via your Server Settings > Integrations options, but we're also working on a setting to help with this as well.

Howdy! Rythm's internal permission system works off what we call "DJ permissions" which means some disruptive commands are locked behind DJ permissions. The exception to this rule is the /settings command, which requires Manage Server.

When a user is alone with the bot, they're granted automatic DJ permissions for the session since the only user they can disrupt is themselves. These are immediately revoked when another user joins the session. You can use /settings in your own server to designate a role as your DJ Role which will give any user with it DJ permissions permanently. Additionally, you can also set your bot to DJ Only mode, which means users must have a DJ role or Manage Channels to interact with Rythm in any way, including when alone.

If using /disconnect, it should remove this every time! If it's being disconnected with Right click > Disconnect, the bot will need the Manage Channels permission since Discord requires it when the bot is not in the channel

However, I can check for any issues if you run a /ping and send me a screenshot of the result. It's possible we're getting ratelimited by Discord, but this shouldn't be the case after the most recent update

Normally this isn't the case, however we rolled out an update a few hours ago that caused it to disconnect. It's possible your server was on one of the shards we had to restart since occasionally shards get stuck during startup, which might have caused it to not rejoin properly

It’s weird that they have acces, because all the Rythm bots here, when you try to press a button, it says you don’t have access.

As of for now, there is no way to disable the buttons. Other than just disabling the Announce Songs as a second solution. Or just make it so the channel is not readable by anyone other than those with the DJ role 🙂

I'm familiar with the previous & current functionality. Been using the Status Change functionality since it was released.

Not sure if you have tried it yourself the buttons do work for anyone - including this Server. Here is what I just did in the House Channel. But when I try to use the command - it's says it can only be done by DJ.

That, is something you can not change. It’s the Rythm welcome message, and it gets posted to a channel of the server. I don’t know which one. But that can’t be changed. Rythm only sends that message once added to the server.

That is not possible. Rythm posts a new message for songs. You can disable the ‘Announce Songs’ function to prevent the bot from announcing songs.

Of course it requires the user to be in VC, it literally tells it everytime they attempted a command while they're not on a channel where Rythm is on. I only pertain to when the user tried to do the /fuckoff command but somehow they can't because they thought it requires the DJ role to allow disconnection, but from my experience, it does disconnect fine without the DJ role. So that's when I ask them on behalf to help them with the question, as I don't want them to put offguard.

And also if I were you, just let them answer, just them do their thing, there is a chance you could confuse people on situations where it's complex that the team is needed.

Howdy, this could be happening because of a couple reasons, most commonly would be either:

1. A server admin is muting the bot
2. The bot is being moved into stage channels or AFK channels, which suppresses the bot when it moves out of them (this is a discord thing)

Unfortunately we don't manually remove the bot from servers since it's super hard for us to confirm legitimate requests, so a server administrator is the only one able to do so. If you want it to just leave the voice channel however, anyone with DJ permissions can use the /stop command

2. Someone is using right click > apps > listen to music
3. Someone mentions Rythm and presses the "Get Started" button on the reply

Yeah it does that when someone either when someone joined a VC with Rythm with no music, send /info and click Get Started (that is after the first of that when you added the bot), so you can ignore it if you want, or delete it, up to you

Server Settings -> Integrations -> Search for Rythm and change whether or the not the command can be used to any channel, or a specific channel.

Howdy! In the member list here you'll see a bunch of extra Rythm bots. You can add them to have more Rythm instances for multiple voice channels! On Discord bots are limited to only being in one voice channel at a time in a server (like normal users are) so to have multiple channels playing you'll need to add the other bots. They all work identically, just different appearances!

(Except for canary, that's a beta bot and sometimes gets experimental features. Only add that one if you want that!)

Yes. Rythm is free-to-use. Although, there is a way you can contribute to Rythm. It’s by purchasing Premium. New users get a 1 week Premium trial at no cost. After that, the Premium will expire. Some features of Rythm can only be used by Premium users. So if you want to have the full-experience, and higher music quality, Premium is your choice!

All good! Discord bots are a little unique in how they transmit audio to discord over regular user accounts, so this makes sense. Honestly, I'd be curious if hardware acceleration affected this. If you go into your Discord Settings > Advanced > Hardware Acceleration, let me know if enabling or disabling this setting changes anything
