#liquid 2.0 amd
84 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
It's impossible to port it to AMD gpu's
since PhysX is made by NVIDIA, and it does not depend on Haubna
😠then i need to buy new pc for this mod
you don't need to have liquid 2.0 on
Not a new pc but a new gpu
how can i change gpu in laptop ??
Oh
Sorry, didnt read that
You could actually buy an iGPU
I suppose that could work
Wait is it the right name
Hold on
you could change GPU in laptop
Wait im dumb 💀💀💀
but it would be better idea to just build PC
Better to a buy a desktop than adding a gpu to a laptop
yea
plus finding compatible GPU to the laptop you have could be pain
not to mention that you could do the same thing as me and kill it on accident
An eGPU is what i meant
I killed mine when I opened it and screwed around tuoching components profecionnal IT guy here
Let me touch your pc components once - and you're damned
Which just allows plugging a dedicated gpu into a laptop
But yeah a pc would be better than a laptop
I probably need a guide on how to attach new GPU to my laptop, as I'm probably going to use one for a long time
Well im not certain how to do it myself as i havent done that but there are definitely tutorials out here
I think you need a gpu riser but im not 100% sure
It also appears you can have an amd and nvidia card in a pc at the same time
So thats nice, i guess
now i just want to destroy this laptop
but then that requires a thunderbolt port
which he might not have
latter better
Well fuck me for not having a permanent home to attach my PC in then
DAMN IT
embed fail
I just saw the post talking about 2.0 liquids
I own nothing that has an Nvidia GPU besides my damn switch lmao and that thing isn't even technically a gpu
wait
and even if it didn't they can use HIP to allow it to run on OGL instead of CUDA
In too stupid to know half of what you said but
Interesting
So the liquid 2.0 could run on amd graphic cards
it could, you just need to rewrite physx to use HIP, which allows both cuda and amd cards to use one unified api for different hardware
which they already have a program to partially do
someone just has to do it
also wish it worked for AMD
installed mod mainly for this, only to find out its only Nvidia 😄 (7900 XTX Nitro+)
I wait for the day
Same, 6900XT and just to find that even in gaming there are still limiations for AMD, just when I thought the only thing Nvidia was better at was productivity..
do you have a PRO GPU?
that is not for regular GPUs
select your GPU here
not sure what are you actually trying to do though
https://www.amd.com/en/support
if you dont know the exact GPU, either try the autodetection tool
or something like gpu-z might give you more details on what kind of vega 8 it is
@somber aurora If you have Thunderbolt 3 or USB 4 (USB C but more advanced), you can have an eGPU (External GPUs), but RTX 4090s are a bit big for it...
please add this to before you post guidelines
it is technically possible
yeah, but there is no simple way to do this because nobody has made a physx port for amd
at the very least that should be clarified in the guidelines
actually ROCm for windows is already out for a week
https://docs.amd.com/en/latest/release/windows_support.html
now someone needs to rework this to HIP/ROCm and then both Nvidia and AMD should work

You don't
It kinda sucks right now
You are better off just watching a video of it
i know how it works i play on my friend computer
technically most amd desktop gpu's work with the pro drivers
Just gonna reopen this so its not forgotten
i ended up buying nvidia gpu if you have amd and want this water its better to buy cheap gtx 1060 then try to make it work with amd somehow
For me with my 4050 Before RTX with AMD 7000 series it works
I was (long time ago) on like super Old laptop
