The blade of this weapon has a sweeping, sharpened outer curve that slopes sharply back to the haft and encompasses the wood to extend into a curved beak on the other side, which possesses a cruel point. The haft itself, though made of solid mahogany near the head, sinks downward to become an openwork menagerie of gears and sprockets.
