Since the changes to max mana/HP clac like 2 years ago, I've never had a pure where I find mana is an issue tbh.

Another thing to keep in mind for being short on mana (at least for pures)... you can MANA PULSE to get an off-node hit of mana upfront, you can use 1700 for no-mana (either as CSvTD or ASvDS attack), all the societies have ways of generating mana (symbol of mana, sigil of power, CoL and it's thing), if you're in GoS use sigil of concentration for extra mana per mana pulse..

Also, a cheap 3x mana runestaff will do wonders for you.

And if you don't have a mana-flaring staff already, you can get certs for adding them to unflaring staves at the HESS at DR. And, no, you're not an idiot, pures are notoriously difficult to get used to playing, especially compared to squares/pures. 😦
