I'm having a hard time finding out what happened on the Isle. Why people are called survivors. Perhaps I am missing something.

a new lesser spirit named Ghezresh was found there when EG moved to Caligos as a venue. a lot of people didn't like him, and several prominent priests/representatives of different arkati conspired to prevent Ghezresh from moving his influence from the isle to the mainland. the finale of the 5-year EG grounds quest involved Charl hitting the isle with a tsunami or ten, effectively sinking it. the survivors and castaways are anyone who lived on Caligos Isle during that 5-ish year timeframe and managed to make it out alive.

Just as a small clarification, people lived on the island longer than 5 years, it was only shown to the public for 5 years. Some people lived there a couple of decades. At first, Ghezresh only allowed small groups of explorers, worshippers, and people he could easily influence onto the island. Then, an enterprising Captain, sold Ghezresh on the idea that they could gain followers -- and money -- if they opened it up.

the interesting thing is the title shows up for players created after Caligos was destroyed. or at least that is the info I could find and matches my experience since none of my characters have access to the title. #premium message
