Perpetually on my list of game concepts is to make a horror/walking sim centering hog farms and environmental racism. My plan for this jam is to develop the aesthetic of the town it takes place in. I want to implement cosmic horror elements that represent the various forms of pollution and illnesses caused by hog farms specifically (and CAFOs in general). Here’s my current concept board (any additional references would be greatly appreciated 🤍, I’ve mostly pulled imagery from Pacific Drive, Last of Us, and Annihilation)

Some tests for the water pollution and algae overgrowth, was testing out the glitched aesthetic to represent medical complications but figured it would be too complicated to model on a small scale so went in a different direction

Hog farm building concept!
With contaminated water, bacteria, algae overgrowth (I may spread it out more if I’m psyched to do so later), and then ‘natural expulsion of dead cells’ imagery as a direct depiction of impacts on the human body…I did not play around with atmospheric imagery that could portray the air pollution aspect , but may try to implement that in the later phases
For color, all the pollutions aspects are hyper saturated, with the building a low saturation like a corpse 😊
