as a solo weapon its an accuracy check on a boss that I have trouble believing you'd actually miss super often (and od but shhh), its not "pointless" persay but it does feel a tad like making the weapon more complex just for the sake of it
this is especially true when looking at it as a stratus weapon, where the charge gimmick (and its slow generation in general) kinda feels like it hinders its ability to be a starburst generator leaving it as a primary damage dealer with the right click, which is a fine niche to have, something on the status set needed to be one, but it again kind of calls into question why the accuracy gimmick is even there
if the purpose is to restrict its usefulness as a generator while still allowing it to function as one in solo use I guess I could see it but since the right click gives charge for hitting anyway it feels like its not too great at doing that either
