it's like 3am here or smth, but in the pinned section of this channel there's a pinned document that compiles every bit of lore information that's found in the game as of the last update, and there's quite a lot (doc is like 100+ pages long last I checked)
due to how the incoming update, sunken sea overhaul (which is gonna bring lots of lore stuff too supposedly), is taking a long time though, we've been getting quite a lot of (usually non-definitive, but still)lore in discord statements scattered through this server, specifically this channel but occasionally outside of it
other than this, I guess asking a bit around to developers, specifically writers such as Cei, Stip (nicknamed Vetrasyl here), Rebecca can help too
lore is still incomplete (it should be complete/fully written by the time of Calamity's final update, so Yharim release; may get some more if Xeroc/Noxus are actually released, which isn't definitive), but for the time being, this is all I could point you towards for info

when brainstorming for it, i considered how i typically make use of it
and that's in underground exploration
large, open caves or the Underworld
i just find it very useful for manoeuvring through those spaces
and, if the rebels wanted to disrupt as many of the Crusade's operations as possible
they'd have needed information on all of them
i assume there were more underground civilisations than just Ilmeris and Azafure, so i also assume that a fair few gods lived in the caverns
meaning that the Crusade would have had a lot of activity there
if the rebels wanted information on that activity, they would have needed a way to traverse the caverns easily, and preferably without getting caught
