it's like minos prime switching between seemingly teleporting around the arena and powerwalking towards you
and seeing the afterimages when he does zoop around reveals that no, he does not actually teleport, he just is that fast
Old lore
old lore yharim was more ridiculous
like killing a room of people by slamming his fist on a table
Dog also beat someone who eats stars (like irl type iirc)
old lore with the powerscaling that's as solid as water
Yeah
DoG only took a nom out of Deus
in old lore, stars were the real life ones (or at least, were considered as such without much of a thought)
but idk old lore scaling is so odd
old lore scaling boiled down to "whatever who cares, this sounds cool enough"
yea

his fist slam explode the room

on one hand you have:
yharim table fist which supposedly cause a powerful earthquake that could be felt from all over the continent (large island level+ at most with calcs)
and calamitas boiling the sea (as always, country level lol)
and those are considered incredibly powerful
then you have providence staying in the sun's core to gather energy (the sun's core emits multi-continent level energy per second) to scorch the planet (if it's surface/crust, it's multi-continent level, barely reaching moon level at most if we include the seas and the air getting scorched as well), but at least it's considered a major thing so I can still excuse it
then you have astrum deus eating large stars (would default to large star level irl) being treated as a more casual thing than all of these 3 lmao
it's quite inconsistent so yk
also ig DoG's "universal collapse" might've been literal at one point, granted in more recent iterations before new lore, it's Noxus who is a ticking timebomb that will blow up the universe (at least Noxus and Xeroc at the time were so far beyond everyone else that it's not even too inconsistent, so yk)
current lore deus, prolly not
if we're talking abt old lore deus vs the primordial light sun in the new lore, then that deus would be able to devour that and the entire planet and everyone within it too
lmao

I think he might
have a horrible tummy ache..
that’d be the extent
Xeroc watching in horror as the fucking sun gets eaten by a stupid worm guy:
This is so sad, can we have likes and prayers for Old Lore Astrum Deus?
Oh my God, I missed the fifty dollar steam gift card, this is so sad...
real life large stars would make Terraria the planet look like a small crumb of nun
la briciola 💔
but it's a star...
I like to imagine Moonlord is just fucking tweaking during a solar eclipse
You could say the same to earth about that
(He’s on the side facing towards the sun)

im saying that if old lore deus can eat large stars then a planet is no reaction
Light work no reaction
I wonder if he could
wander around
or if it’s like he’s just immobilized
he's getting sunburned for a whole day

true
I meant eating the sun in calamity
since it seems inherently different from an actual ztar
yes
but that'd be like a molecule at this point
Small
😭
If its smaller then the planet
Its piss easy eaten by old deus
tbf.. we don’t know how big
orbiting the earth
the sun is
Iirc yeah

I mean
Draedon calls it a planet system iirc
What if there is no solar system
So it may just
Not be a solar system
As far as I'm aware
It's just a planet a moon and a sun

unless mars
martian
where even are they
well he calls us a planet cluster
The alien invasion is canon
smaller than terraria I'd assume in calamity
maybe
smaller than 200mb
look out for a size comparison between earth and large stars

how tf is it lighting up the moon
real life large stars since that's what old deus was supposedly eating
Maybe
light+
that’d be fucking ridiculous 😭
Why does only half of it do that
evil ass moon
In calamity ALL celestial bodies are fucked up
moonlord bleed that night
moon turns emo
since she wouldnt die would the planet create another elemental
maybe
It just be doing that
maybe not

Evil xeroc
been happening
Dragon of Blood inside the Moon :
for effectively as long as they know

ravager might be alien from moon……
so true!!!
Dragon of
Uh
Iron
Haemoglobin has iron in it
Blood has haemoglobin
Iron to blood
Clearly draedon prime did it
Draednautilus
They broke the kill switch…..
Faro Plague: Draedon Edition
I find it funnt
that Aureus is stronger
than the mechs
not the exo mechs just
the mechs
A scout bot is stronger than the literal war machines
afaik it wasn’t even combat focused
astral juices do that i guess
i think this specific model was souped up to be more armored and weaponized
also i imagine that draedon didnt actually invest much into the hallowed mechs after realizing they had basically free will
makes sense
chat I wonder
Could extreme heat make astral infection unable to latch onto somethng
Like if something like Thantos showed up into the astral infection area
would he just be unable to be taken over due to sheer heat
I think they could get infected
how much stronger could we say prime fovos was than zeratros?
like 2x since he was able to fight all the dragons to a standstill or maybe more?
I think he should fix the issue of it
being fucking destroyed

Unknown
Probably not that much stronger though
considering that Zeratros is so much stronger than an average auric dragon
yeah
like realistically the average auric dragon could fo
fuck all
to fovos
a whole load of nothing
true
the issue aslo wasnt that all dragon combined weren't strong enough, it's that ML basically has healing factor thanks due the tounge, meaning cast amounts of week opponents give it plenty of time to feed off of them and keep the battle going
They should add in the mechanic where you can absorb yharon's soul after he's dead and become the god of rebirth oh wait... you are the god of rebirth already
i was gonna argue abt their combined power but ur probably right that most of them would be inconveniencing to him at best
respawning
a
non-canonical
as with most games unless they specify otherwise

nuh uh
Undertale reference
i didnt think of that lol
undertale is also why fovos is so weakened
no more legs
I’d probably say if it was literally only the strongest of dragons fighting him
"oh yes."
it’d probably have been easier
Then why is yharon harder than ml if he's weaker thqn ml as you have said, yharon is one of if not the strongest dragons in the lore
yes it indeed was
Moon Lord was weakened
moon lord is weakened
ML is literally missing limbs and organs as is visible in the sprite
That makes sense
they took away his legs
imagine trying to fight somebody without your legs or half of your organs
When full moonlord?
smth smth freeza
before he was ripped in half
(also hiii cei hiii!!!!)
idk i think it's doing a good job all considering
hi :D
zekrom fovos kick
thats why you dont skip leg day
had to be nerfed
if yharon could revive anyone (which he cant)
moon lord would be the last thing he would revive
nuh
t'was merely satire
like it's literally having to deal with an exposed and wounded heart and brain, it's entire lower half gone, the lwoer torso also gone with the lwoer third of your spine being clearly visible
its impressive that its heart hasnt fallen out
considering uh
the ribcage is exposed
well it's like
like the dude should get credit for just SURVIVING like that, much less fighting like that
connected to the rest of their body and stuff
and STILL being one of the most powerful entities in the world
but yeah that sounds kind of unsafe
moon lord literally has freeza levels of endurance
so how much stronger is fovos than yharim/zeratros
it jsut leave syou thinking, what kind of a beast in combat WAS this thing back in it's hayday
since yharim/zeratros are similar tier right?
I'd win
genuine question do you mean frieza
i'm slow
i'd give Yharim the slight edge
ok either way
Even greater considering Freeza was basically completely incapacitated after being cut in half
i said similar not exactly same
freeza is how its actually said
but yeah
frieza is just a dubbism i think
i think draedon could defeat xeroc if he had prep time and xeroc didnt know about that
actually so funny story about the name and why it's like that in english
Moon Lord was cut in half, had even more wounds, AND could still fight incredibly well
make sure to not skip straight to Z
i'm watching dragon ball first
original DB is worth a watch (even if some parts are... definitely products of their time)
it was originally decided to be "frieza" becuase that sorta guides the pronunciation to be more like the original one
then is daima next?
daima is after Z
but also not nessesary to watch
which
it's fine
i'd give it a solid enough 6.5/10 overall with some standout 8/10 moments
Moonlord is uh
Built different
@manic coral
i guess
so its more like the english language being stupid
at times
Well
No matter what xeroc will be training even if they knew or not
yeah this
Xeroku
xeroc and goku would be pals i think
eh i think they'd get along better with piccolo
Its the internet
why did you feel the need to share that
true point
The boss rush dialogue is so funny compared to everyone in here saying "yeah he's like really chill"
i mean
they are even in that more or less. he's relatively chill comapred to how you see him described elsewhere and compared to how you think somebody LIKE him would act
i basically write chaarcters onv arying levels of how fancy they try to sound with yharim being the msot and calamitas being the least
and xeroc is like one of the one i write with one of the most casual ways of talking
Yes
as the most professional is Yharim (when he's trying to get a point across)
honestly I relate to Yharims verbose ass prose a lot . hell yeah brother write like the self important asshole you are!
the middle ground overall is probably permafrsot where he speaks somewhat formally but drops it occasionally and makes a joke here or there
Very significantly imo
very significantly, at least four or five times stronger
at least thats how i think of it
Big enough that Zeratros would never win a 1v1 no matter what happened, small enough that Zeratros could still put up a reasonable fight for a while
oh hi reb
Hi :D
Stip here aswell i think
same goes for yharim too right?
eh i say more xeroc + zeratros putting up a reasonable fight for a while
maybe a little less
'oooo I wonder what happens if I dig straight down' and then when I get to hell bro sends me 5 paragraphs of shit about why hell is hell
Ok that's fair
I think the most verbose character I've written is... possibly, Vetrasyl
Draedon is not really verbose, he's more technical
Aerialite author #1 (Phaedros) is somewhat stoic in his speech, Aerialite author #2 (Daedalië) is really casual and nerdy, Amidias has a well-read, stylish and flowy way of talking but still not that verbose
yeah technical is a better word
The most verbose Cal character I wrote is not canon
i say ML is only like twice as strong as the two combined and with the other dragons yeah no if it wasn't for its healing and immense endurance it would be able to be felled by just like the strongest ten or so dragons ganging up on it
but because of said endurance and healing
yeah
Fighting the Moon Lord was more a battle of attrition than anything
Really?
I always took what little dialouge we had from him as stoic & soothed
and this is just the strongest dragons, not xeroc who's like, pre-ascension
at least relative to present yharon
Not exactly casual but y'know calm
i mean when the other characters im writing atm are like
amidias
So would moonlords highest stat be its fucking tanky survivability
I wrote Vetrasyl this way to give him an aura of grandeur, to match his status as an Auric Dragon
It would be interesting to write dialogue for other Auric Dragons, giving each of them their own way of being verbose and majestic
Question; Who's Vetrasyl?
Storm Dragon, upcoming character
Dragon of storm
Made otonilou goddess of electricity
I wonder what it's like to talk to DoG in more than just like. a couple sentences while he tries to kill you
(I just borrowed his name)
Oh cool
Probably insufferable quite frankly
Like we find a log or something?
maybe you'll find out some day!
:)
Sunken Sea has some ancient scriptures now?
Hey, another thing he and Otonilou have in common!
well not now but in 2 fargo seconds when sunken sea overhaul comes out
calling up the worm on the shell phone
I wonder if he could reform in the Distortion
he and calamitas are the only two characters in cal i could actually see potentially telling you to kill yourself
For example, I would imagine Yharon's speech to be elegant yet rash
Like a medium to high-tempo violin piece
"Yo, Terrarian, I need you to fetch my cocaine stash"
?

^ Real thing DoG would say
Wait I'm stupid

I thought you said you borrowed the name from somewhere else
if you kill him on Get Fixed Boi you hear a voice acted rendition of the LTG speech for a solid 40 seconds before he explodes into confetti
LTG?
LowTierGod.
Low Tier God
I see
The "You should kill yourself NOW" person.
I thought you were referring to the Marine Copypasta
LowTierdevourerofGods
GetFixedBoi name-change drop
Not quite, though -syl comes from Umbrasyl (Critical Role/Vox Machina)
Umbrasyl is cool
anyways imma go make food
(Brazil reference)
preferably warm food
Imma go to class
man critical role
it's -2f outside
Damn
i watched like the first four episodes and i cant continue cause i wanna play dnd myself
(about -19c for your who live elsewhere)
Thats wild how you guys have weather
& such
Here, it feels like the gates of Hell were kicked wide open
here its mostly ok
Fucking hell
at night it gets REAL bad like 15 degrees c
I'd take that over the daily 32c here
It's 30°C here, but since this city has such open skies, it feels a lot hotter
Imperial smh
Fun shit
brazil simulator
I heard you wanted some lightning.
And may I add
never been happier with my 6c weather than now
lighting/eletricity based powers are the most underutilized powers in all of media
The temperature usually stays above 30C from 11 am to 7pm
Curse of Vetrasyl be upon ye
not becuase they're rarely used
but becuase of all the fucky stuff you could potentially do with them that nobody ever does
I'm waking up basically every day because I just get that hot
🫴 ⛈️
like? hello??? electromagnetics?????
Give some examples
Had to sleep without sheets and with the fan turned on yesterday
i want to see somebody with eletricity powers stop a metla weapon in its tracks becuase of this or use like a slime metla sword to repel of giant axe
Yeah, electricity is sick af
or maybe use it to electically stimulate their own body to do some fucky stuff
and so on
like seeing an eletricity power character who actually uses electromagnetics would be SICK
That moment when you have access to possibly the most versatile of the Universe's 4 fundamental forces
which is why im writing it for my other project
"fine, i'll do it myself"
I need to have my fan glued to my ass 24/7
Like, I don't remember when I last went a day without it
would that speed you up
Ok I actually remember
February 10th, because I wasn't home
Spent basically one hour trying to sleep and failing because it was just that hot
At least it won't reach 30+ in the next few days
i remember skipping a heatwave in the uk by going to spain
Lucky
i think some places were getting ~39c?
meanwhile i was in a (typically) hotter country with stable 25-30s
hello i am back

welcome back to the land of the living!
tbf
did he even have
organs
LOL
he has a heart and eyeballs and a brain and ribs and
so yeah
Well considering they are saying they lost them
Yeah…
I suppose but it is immensely weird to me
that he has such similar type of body structure
to us
Unless moonlord somehow has negative organs now
ah yes
And yes it’s not 1-1
similar body structure
but damn is it close
because we have eyes in our hands
ok but he has
Isnt it tentacle legs
not really
he has our hands damn near 1-1 excluding the eyes
does he have fingernails?
pretty sure
he does
Like Fovos is incredibly similar to the look of a person bodywisw
I doubt the organs they have are
Anything close to human
but clearly his body can function without them lol
well seemingly not his heart/core thing
and presumably his brain as well
do we know if that's a brain?
I’d say it’s also way more jmpressive he survived the centuries on the moon
with those injuries
like those were not fatal, just grievous LOL
With no access to healing or whatnot
I still think he's a ghost
why
We already have our extremely strong ghost fella
a lot of his attacks are already called phantasmal
I mean
I've always headcanoned that polterghast absorbed the moon lord's soul
can't wait for them to unplantera
How…?
-# they are them due to being multiple
which is why it became a problem after the moon lord's defeat and why it deals moon bite
Polterghast is deep underground
Afaik the only people who Polterghast is composed of
is those who died in the dungeon
Well
The dungeon fucks with souls
was there not a runestone of some kind in the dungeon that was tied to the moon lord?
Also unrelated but the Polterghast relic kinda looks like the Erchius Ghost to me
That broke though and it was at the entrance
Possibly being what held moonlords seal
Soon™️
Game play moment
I exist so yes

violent murder
Ah yeah im a goober making text inside a small thin metal box
There isn't really any evidence for this other than some names
And vanilla isn't always the best at making sense of naming enemies
Is there a lore reason why Providence turns stronger during night or it's just "Provi becomes le stronk in night becuz funny"?
Oh yeah there is
But the way she gets that form is also changing next update which this reason is based on
read this
Fovos got brought low and killed, but what is dead may yet eternal lie, and in strange aeons even death may die
Consider what Fovos represents - it's an entity from beyond, from the stars, carrying with it four armies aspected to fundamental structures of the cosmos. Its power was so great that it, single-handedly, almost ended the reign of the dragons at the height of their power, and all they could feasibly do was maim it severely and then use magic to chain it to the moon
So when this final husk is eventually destroyed, its soul persists - but unintentionally, the dungeon trap springs and binds its collossal soul to the world. Polterghast, by spirit volume, is probably 60% fovos and 40% everything else, meaning the battle is more of a rematch with the Thing That Will Not Die than just a spooky ghost
You give her the guardians profaned core, the power she had given them centuries ago returned
So that is providences true original power
-# its better for her to have the guardians in 99% of cases
ohhhhh
that makes so much sense
also, providence is the goddess of fire, so metaphysically, if her light is overshadowed by that of the sun, she is weakened
I think Polter absorbing ML's soul is a lame concept
Rather than it gaining power from the souls of people tortured and persecuted by Yharim's regime, most of its powers are from a random alien

Nope
She isnt fire god
Not really a fan of it either tbh
She absorbed the dragon of fire
new lore says she absorbed the soul of the dragon of flame
She absorbed the auric soul of flame, but her domain changed
so what is she
What's the earth elemental's deal? I want big buff man to join my summoner build
Ash very likely
Goddess of ash is the likeliest candidate
Oh
Fake elemental azafure built
Fake
fake elemental forged by powerful wizards after they did an oopsie
Damn
doesn't work properly unfortunately, it's just a giant golem
Thats why she cant be flame goddess
Polterghast being made of all the victims of Yharim's crusade went way harder
Imagine if you could combine both sand elementals to make a true form of earth elementals
For some reason the new lore severely whitewashes Yharim's insane warcrimes
hhi
I mean
Sand isnt just split into 2 elementals
Split into possibly hundreds
whar
No?
What even is whitewash
Haiiiii
whitewashing is when you get a character that isnt white and you make them white
which i have no idea how that relates to anything to do with yharims crimes
The 2 sand elementals+life alloy+ all hard mode bars = earth elemental?
Nope
lots of stuff is not his fault anymore
- sulphur sea is now draedon
- calamitas was now taken in out of compassion
- permafrost was now not imprisoned on the Tyrant's orders
- Azafure happened because of random elemental
etc etc
That would go hard tho
uh no
calamitas wasn't taken out of compassion
No
Every sand elemental is a fragment of the true one
she was used as a living weapon
Damn
that is not what whitewashing means
Yharim ordered scal
to kill Permafrost
and yharim ordered scal to kill permafrost
She didn’t
he wanted worse than emprisoning him
yes it is
Yeah instead of imprisoned
He was sentenced to death
also yeah it's not what it means
whitewashing means to take a character's evil actions and justify them in the narrative
that's literally what it means: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/whitewash
no?
Draedon was still under yharim when that happened
Calamitas is manipulated to be a superweapon
like jank said
only yharim himself does
thats not the narrative justifying it, that yharim being a self-righteous manipulative asshole
Yharim does that but by no fucking way does it actually say that he is good
how the hell does the narrative justify yharim's actions
the only one justifying yharim's actions... is yharim.
What type of gamer do you think Dreadon, Yharim, and Calamitas would be?
Draedon is a factorio gamer
Calamitas would play calm games
Yharim plays war hammer
hi cei
Or souls games, no in-between
Yharim?
He too focused on stabbing gods to be a gamer
got time for a question?
Yharim play god of war
draedon has a pet AI which develops mods for factorio which he then plays
true
does banners have a lore reason for existing
I like the idea that Calamitas either plays really calm games or dark souls ultrakill type shit depending on her mood
or is it just an item
Yes
And that never happens in calamity
wonder which character would play DOOM
Perma…
Most are made from the thing you kill, as in, from their skin lol
So it's probably similar to how heart lanterns and stars in bottles work
I can see Calamitas hating Harvey with a burning passion
Sulphur Sea was not entirely Draedon's fault, it was also the fault of the hyper-industrialisation of Azafure, which can also be attributed to Yharim.
The idea to take in Calamitas was Permafrost's idea, not Yharims. If it were not for Permafrost's expertise, Yharim would've not had a clue of Calamitas' importance, nor a need to take her in
Yes. He wanted to do something worse. To kill him.
Azafure's destruction was always the result of Brimstone Elemental's and Calamitas' combined efforts during a battle.
permafrost
ah
Perm
(Not to mention the previously mentioned fact that Calamitas was more or less treated as a weapon
I agree with this interpretation fwiw
thank you
but the new lore certainly cushions some of his more outright evil actions present in the old lore
Who'd you want to be your teacher in lore?
Dungeon:
_ _
no it doesnt he's portrayed jsut as bad if not worse narratively than in old lore
How so?
a lot of stuff is now the result of we live in a society instead of Yharim doing evil shit because he's evil
old lore tried to be like "but he's sad though"
A lot of the lore rn is directly from his perspective
new lore yharikm meanwhile is jsut like "yeah that genocide was pretty cool"
Just cause he is human doesnt mean he is less evil
He gives not 2 fucks and would do it again
It just feels a bit confused is all
every time
Not really
other than lose shit
that doesn't mean he's emotionless though, because
he's human
he wpuld probably change outcomes LOL
people have emotions
I think you're the only one that's confused here.
Yeah
how about we don't jump to insults
Its just that currently pretty much all the lore comes from Yharims POV
Yharim himself is just
Underplaying how bad they are
yharim and bestiary and looking at the world aroudn you
and the draeguy
that too
and there was supposed to be notably more as of. uh. half a year ago. but SSO is in dev hell atm.
Note that this is my point, nothing else
Yharim is not said to be close to being a good person and the only thing that downplays how bad he is is himself
Yharim is arguably more evil than he was in old lore
And i mean yeah
he's not just
evil for the sake of evil
that's a good thing.
i'1m pretty sure.
Yes I agree
That's why I said this
so then what is your point exactly because i am SUPER confused here
Yharim is doing shit cause he is a genocidal racist prejudicial maniac with so much power barely anyone can even scratch
basically my point is that the lore lacks nuance atm because the only source is an unreliable narrator
I'd prefer "yharim is evil cause of this" rather than "yharim is evil beacuse funny lol"
no it isn't
Theres other sources
Like bestiary and draedon
and also again
There are quite literally two very reliable narrators.
looking at the world around you
Yeah
and seeing what happened

i meam if you make a claim that's literally not true people will correct you on it
Tbh I cant really see the “look at the world” tho
Yeah I think that one is supposed to be improved in the next few updates
i mean take the hallow for an example. nobody ever really comments on it. yharim very specifically doesn't. unless you take a look at it and think about what it is and where it came from, like
You said incorrect information. We were correcting you.
Like the Timeless shores having remanants of necromantic energy
it's hard to tell WHY he wouldn't talk about it
But it's definitely there already
like the sulphuric sea or the Planty mush in da abyss
I guess so, but most dont analyse the vanilla parts on lore
it's throguh context clues in the world itself that you grasp why he wouldn't want to talk about it. becuase it's something that conflicts with his ideology that he is trying to sorta sell you on.
becuase otherwise it's ahrd to explain in a way that makes him look favorable
same with how it wasall contianed but not the crimson or corruption
I get your point
He'd avoid talking about it if it was something of a black mark on his record yes
but isn't that a bit vague
like this is still a video game
it's an example of something you can only grasp by actually paying attention to the world
there's also the surface shrine as another example, in terms of what it's for
The evil biome shire?
using other connections of how it looks, what's in it, and other stuff, you cna deduce that, oh, it's probably a slime god shrine
I feel like letting things be… vague is fine
It's difficult to tell which parts of the unaddressed gameplay elements are this and which ones are unaddressed because the devs haven't yet integrated it for non-devs, I think
it doesn’t need to be spoonfed
if it was all written down it would fucking suck because it would literally turn the lore into just
reading only
the parts that are unaddressed gameplay elements are stuff that's direct referneces or dedicated content
those are non-canonical for obvious reasons
like I assumed the Hallow was not yet properly integrated into calamity's lore, that what it means hadn't yet been decided on
Or dev content
like the martians
that's just dedicated contebt
Martians are addressed.
Well, isnt it also dedicated content
I mean also like
It’s just not all in rn anyways
Also, one of the largest biomes in the game being put off...
exactly, hence the confusion
Does that not sound weird to you?
it's a free mod I expect nothing and take nothing for granted
Fair enough
i mean fair enough i guess
Also the average Calamity player cant read
like what I was initially trying to put into words is that the lore feels, as of yet, a bit incomplete (cause it is), and that relative to the old lore a lot of things are more nebulously presented, a decision which I'm a fan of
but the "incompleteness" is only because the old lore was incoherent, and there wasn't really any overarching narrative apart from the broad strokes, whereas now, there is
and as much as some of your complaints and points do confuse me, like, i do appricate this discussion
just to be clear
i like talking about this stuff becuase it makes me think about how i can maybe do things better
every critism, as long as it's constructive, which yours generally is even if i do disagree with some of it, leads to what i make potentially being better
One of my favourite things to do online is to go to narrative-heavy niche community projects and question the devs on lore
I had a more coherent statement in mind initially but the conversation kind of spiralled, and what I wanted to say kind of got lost in the back and forth
Yea, more obvious lore in the world would be useful. But that comes in SSO iirc
Anything is good really
Yeah
i will say there is a fundemental probelm with non-written and unsaid worldbuilding stuff in a game like this with the worlds being randomly generated. it DOES lead it it having to be relating to things that are a bit more overarchign or vague.
which is fine, to my own mind, i just need to write with that consideration in mind
leave some bigger world details mroe vague and focus on elaborating on the less obvious things
Real
pointing out the bigger things when nessesary
the best lore is that which fleshes out the little things
big cosmic concepts are better kept vague
however, they DO need to have an internal dev answer so the mystery is consistent
i do enjoy trying to jsut let how the world is laid out try to speak for me sometimes, and if i end up feeling like something isn't obvious enough, in a later patch sometimes i'll gauge the community's reaction to stuff and if nobody picks up on it relaly i'll go "hmm, i'll specifically point this out in something when i get a chance"
lore is surprisingly difficult to write, too
oh trust me, we do. we've literally had a 2 hour long discussion about how Ilmeris' economy worked. which PROBABLY isn't gonna be mentioned anywhere. but it might and it may be referenced to
so if we do, it's internally consistent
that's really funny
u should randomly drop this information at 3 am
..and how did it work?
that stuff is important! I worked on Tamriel Rebuilt (big morrowind mod project) between 2012-2015 and the amount of background lore needed to make literally the most basic ambient dialogue make internal consistent sense is mad
and also stuff like the origins of the distortion or xeroc's name from before they ascended, stuff like that we do have general answers to, even if they'll never be in the game. it also has the bonus benifit of, like
it's tantalizing that there IS an actual answer

that DOES exist
oh yeah i know about that
i have a damn lot of respect for that project
i'm huge on morrowind
not my fvaorite game ever, but
probably a top 20
most of the stuff I wrote unfortunately probably won't ever see the light of day, I did some generic quotes for the doomed Almalexia release that never was
their name was. John Wulfrum Sr.
most of the stuff I wrote unfortunately probably won't ever see the light of day,
yeah i feel this

Its still clearly the Rock. There is so much evidence
most of the lore i make and write does not and will not ever be publically seen unless i myself decide to talk about it
which i have, sometimes
Xeroc is definitely dwane johnson
fundmentally, ilmeris was a nation that relied a lot on trade
Xe(ROC)
xeroc more like therock
the first thing he made was a ROCK
fuck that was the joke you made
Old lore
1 singular braincell
most common exports were pearls and sea prisms
oh cool
Inassume so
sea prisms are valuable as godo conductors and pearls are used very commonly in jewelry and such, like in real life
ilermis also attracted a lot of tourism for its exotic locations and food
did they do agriculture or just eat fish?
also how did they heat things
both
Did Xeroc have a pebble collection before ascencion?
hot water idk
ah yea thermal vents
something I wodner
you know that's a good point
if Sea Prisms always existed
well, for heating, part of the ilerman sea is- yeah
none of their stuff is made of metal, so that makes perfect sense
the basalt place
who is that btw
Or they just are stuff raw
god of electricity
what did they use for money?
ah ok
but sea prisms were very valuable since the tech pre-crusade was early industrial reovlution levels
probably yeah, like other things like ruby diamonds etc
and so there was demand for stuff that helped with assembling stuff that sues eletricty
with sea prisms are great for
so they basically were able to fufill two econimical niches of tourism and exporting goods used for advanced contsruction
thoguh despite thr tourism, not many non-ilmerians lived in ilmeris for obvious reasons

i mean most of it IS underwater
Fortunately, I found a way to make it clear that Yharim intentionally doesn't comment on the Hallow! Or any time he observes but doesn't comment, for that matter
there were spots most humans could go specifically BECAUSE tourism
The rock...
so were its inhabitants like Amidias then?
though yeah, after the crusade started, didn'tm take long for most trade to dry up which, while ilermis was able to defend itself for a long time
tbh, even if the Incineration didn't happen
things would have descended into anarchy pretty much in 20-30 more years
No.
I'm talking about the Auric Rock.
(Totally not a phone)
I imagine that living in Ilmeris was probably extremely
ilmeris, after it became a thing when the tribes that inhabitaed the ilemeran sea all united to form ilmeris, was pretty heavily reliant on its neighbors, espeically azafure for stuff like metal
tense
what happens if you try to use an auric toilet without being worthy
try
💥
That.
late into the crusade it reached a point where they had to tear down metal building and repalce them with wood or stone ones because the armies defending ilmeris had to use the metal for weaponry so the kingdom wouldn't fall
U live in a kingdom that is on the continent of a massive crusade
With not one, but two major targets
part of why the Incineration was so thorough in the upper layers
And all ur neighboring cities/kingdoms r either being fucking obliterated
or joining the dude
yeah
like the civil unrest would be crazy
And that's something we're working towards
Being simultaneously a writer, builder and designer helps a lot
which by the way while we're on the topic, yeah, Ilmeris was a constitutional monarchy
it had a queen/king, yeah, but most of the pwoer laid in its parliment
The Chrysadia worldbuilding doc....
this was becuase we didn't want to unmake ilmeris being "the sea kingdom" because that's too iconic, but also we didn't want Amidias to be an actual full on monarchy becuase monarches are 90% horrible people
and permafrost was already now filling the "person who did some questionable things in the past trying to do better now" archetype
Just make him a part of the 10%
and that fundmentally made a better story for him than for amidias
I mean a constutional monarch doesnt prevent him from being a bad person
Honestly Idk how good
no
but it makes it so that he's less morally dubius for maintaining a fudnemntally oppressive system

i wouldn't say that amidias was, like, "monarch fo england (basically jsut a celeberaty)" levels of low power in the government, but at the same time
for when mr latin word for gold is knocking at the metaphorical door
yeah

Amdias would be a solid peacetime ruler for ilmeris
Could Yharim kill Noxus?
maybe
big fat huge maybe
I uh
Doubt it
given the correct circumstances
Really fucking depends LOL
Why did you write the
?
But I thought Noxus was similar in power to Xeroc?
Just press the button
I would say he loses 9.5 times out of 10 in the distortion
if not just outright
10/10 times
eh i'd say if yharim knew what he was going into and given tiem to prepare for it
70/30 in Noxus' favor
Both are really strong
Xeroc is beyond everyone by far though
How does Xeroc shape up against Noxus and Fovos?
he’s probably one of the few people who could tank a good few attacks from Noxus
without just
dying
destructive capability doesn't always equate to full-on power
If Xeroc fought full power Fovos, could he win?
yes
i take that to mean noxus is more destructive but less powerful
Yeah
i'd say equally as destructive if not a little more even if notably less powerful
How would Fovos do against Noxus?
Probably really depends for both of them LOL
ok so xeroc is a good bit stronger than noxus, who in your words would have the odds in his favor against yharim. which means xeroc probably no diffs yharim right
i mean in theory Xeroc could come down with the sun and start usign primoridal light to fry landmasses like holding a manifying glass on the ground on a hot summer day
Xeroc would probably have to try to beat Yharim
Xeroc even said Yharim is
In a straight up fight, fovos wins 9 out of 10 times
literally the only mortal make him
question his own strength
Because Yharim is just
really fucking strong for well
just a dude
like obscenely strong LOL
so he's like far beyond the other powerful mortals, like draedon, calamitas, etc?
what makes yharim scary is that, for the most part, he is and alwyas has just bene no more than
not far beyond
a man with an ambition
and he grew stronger than Xeroc ever was before they ascended
meaning there is a tiny gap
and a dragon
feel like that probably has to do with it
yharon mostly was tasked with defendign territory already conquored
Wait, so is Xeroc infinite in strength?
no lmao
not anymore
why would they be
old lore was iirc
xeroc is jsut really fucking strong
Yharim is probably uh
Around continent level
pretty much yeah
how did he get that strong then i guess would be my question
he is pretty much the current pinnicle of human strength
ambition, training, fighting a lot, hard work
hey cei can I ask a question about the planetoids?
because he presumably didn't harvest the same materials the player does
xeroc has had literal centuries of training so yeah
considering the entities are still alive
they earned that strength
I think the craziest part about Yharim’s strength is
Cei, is this accurate?
he literally foguth constantly in the front lines of a century long globe spannign war campaign
oh if we're tlaking about xeroc
how has he been alive so long also
he is so young
yeha same thing
LOL
aside from the ascension
likely the attunement
which was stilla rguably earned becuase
with Yharon
they figured it out
xeroc has been alive for 800 years minimum iirc
And survived the fucking fovos
yeah
but yeah I mean the thing dor Yharim is
honestly dont know anymore lol
he’s probably not as strong as he could be LOL
i just joined and the convo was about xeroc
Given more time n whatnot
eh, mor elike small continent
remember that the sun isnt't like our sun and more like
a giant ball of energy orbiting the world like a second moon
is he still training during the events of the game or is he like chilling
