I just thought mostly, if an area is in the rural outskirts of an empire, it's probably being used for something, either as a tactical position, or for agriculture/mariculture, or for mining, or something else reasonably location-dependent. I guess the area might have been claimed partially for security, also, if an aquatic nation wants to control the entire contiguous span of water? But it's also feasible it was either a mining location, or an agricultural area.

I still think Azafurian (another possessive I'm uncertain of) cuisine would be vaguely similar to Hawai'ian, but that's partially because spam is inherently funny, and the idea of the Supreme Witch, Calamitas, eating it just amuses me even more.

Question: when the Goblin Tinker sells spaghetti, is that an authentic remnant of Goblin cuisine, or a piece of... uh, egalitarian Imperial cuisine (is there a name for Yharim's empire?)... which he's adopted and enjoys?
