fact of the matter is it's random and can appear anywhere, also the lightning is wicked fast to hits you near instantly even if you're half a screen away

Move Ravager to Post-Provi

Ravager, progression wise, currently exists in a nebulous Hardmode and Post-Provi point, not being locked behind any progression point and getting buffed after Providence is defeated. Additionally, Bloodstone is one of his drops Post-Providence, and it’s very fitting for a flesh golem. However, the same material is dropped by Clonelamitas, Brimstone Elemental, and the Brimstone Crag enemies/crates. While this does give new life and a rematch to those enemies, Clonelamitas is just a clone of SCal, so she doesn’t really need a rematch. You already get that rematch through SCal. Brimstone Elemental and the Crag enemies don’t have quite as good of a reason to drop Bloodstone thematically, at least not when compared to Ravager.
One could kill two birds with one two then by moving Ravager to Post-Provi, and by making him the sole source of Bloodstone. This would prevent any cheese with saving treasure bags or crates and opening them Post-Providence, and give Ravager a more solid place in progression. It would also make Bloodstone less of a thematic headache, being focused on one extremely fitting boss instead of three vaguely fitting/connected ones.

Bumblebirb was originally a meme. But now he's Dragonfolly, and actually kind of a serious boss now. Things are allowed to change and evolve.
ravager is a pretty good boss fight though, he just happens to drop useful materials
ravager not being a farm boss and instead kind of opening the gate for better ways to farm out life alloys and such would be pretty nice in my eyes

i really like fighting ravager in general, because its a calamity style boss without being as hard as the others. its just good fun for me.
later game it just becomes farming, but during that progression stage its fun and challenging
ex: i like rav, pbg, cryo, scourge a lot because they are just good fun as well as being a challenge. i also like providence and both calamitas', but for different reasons. they are more bullethell-y and intense.

Flamsteed Ring does have a set base damage
- allowing flamsteed ring and PSC attacks to base off a held weapon's base damage is terrible
everyone would just use scarlet devil because it's objectively the best one
that doesn't remove rigidity at all
it just forces you to farm for the weapon with the highest base damage for each class (overall in flamsteed case)
- "what about use time" is equally as problematic because most calamity weapons end up doing something with their weapon effects, whether it be making the projectile ignore immunity frames or fire 200 projectiles per second
and you're not going to make every weapon do something unique to just make the PSC/Flamsteed usable for all 3000 weapons in Terraria + Calamity

a) that's part of the playstyle of boomerangs, and that's part of what make them unique
b) because it's part of getting the maximum potential out of the weapon, it gets accounted for when doing testing on boomerangs so idk how overpowered it actually is

I'm pretty convinced it's realistically impossible to have 30 boomerangs at once while kiting cuz i'm 100% sure they speed up over time to catch up over to you, but idk i don't test so
I always thought actually utilizing the boomerang return mechanic to be pretty difficult but I was never a fan of the archetype to begin with
they don't speed up as far as i can tell, but they are generally a tiny bit faster than the player can move at that tier
the ones that are most scythe-train reminiscent, anyhow
and yes i would agree that it is somewhat difficult to utilize, so i feel that if you can make it work then you deserve it
I think if we're being realistic, the best way to "change" the mechanic would to make them speed up over time the longer they're returning

@crystal iron perhaps change your sugg to only for weapons that fire a projectile straight at the cursor because stuff like lead wiz or true melee doesn't need this sort of things
