Sand Elementals get like
a pass, sorta
and it's primarily because Sandstorms are some bitchass motherfuckers to go through what with DUNE SPLICERS everywhere amongst other atrocities
also because there are 2 billion enemies on screen at any given time
Sand Elementals' design is fine
but with Ice Golems it's just the normal enemy count
you're much more likely to encounter them alone or with a very small group of trash enemy companions
there's no beefy spawn rates or meme-tier enemy combos, it's just ice golem. and some other ice enemies maybe
you would think they'd have slightly more engaging AI than just lasers and walk to compensate

The main problem with buffing true memee by new mechanic (which likely will affect survivability) is that either other classes will be able to abuse it to the point they benefit more than TM, or it would be extremely arbitrary, to the point when it doesn't look fun or useful

Like, increased damage from Rage makes perfect sense with Melee, given being angry would logically make you swing harder at things
But for something like Ranger, I think rage should make you rev your weapon slightly faster or something

I just got back, and I probably am about to say something you guys already talked about, but is this sugg about crag houses related at all to the similar sounding change in the changelog?
The one in changelog just swaps the furniture and walls to slag walls and ancient furniture
The suggestions is asking for the use of the other furniture items like sofas or clocks as well as occasionally swapping the furniture pieces with Ashen furniture

I always end up having a shortage of lumenyl once I have all the depth cells I need, and when I have all the lumenyl I need I hav a massive surplus of depth cells. I think the abyss enemies should drop more lumenyl to fix this problem. The Luminous corvina should definitely drop more of it because it shares the same colors and, well, has luminous in the name.

For clarity, I'm talking about the 'joke' phase when Boss 2 plays and the sky isn't red--which is actually the main problem here.
A lot of the time, people will do bossfights with no consumable items, like potions or ammo, if given a non-consumable boss summon, especially in higher difficulties. Either that, or I'm weird.
One of these consumables is the Hunter potion (or the Potion of Omniscience). For the majority of the fight, Calamitas does not need either, as the sky is an illuminating blood-red. However, for the first phase, there is no such sky, and Calamitas is really hard to see without Hunter/Omniscience potions.
Because of her attack pattern, I often need to see where she is so I don't run into her. Even if I can still see the lasers, and even if I don't run into her, I'll often have a laser fired point-blank into my face. Even in the joke phase, those things hurt, and it is incredibly helpful to get Adrenaline while wearing down past the easy first phase, and, of course, getting hit resets that. When I do use Hunter/Omniscience potions to bypass this, it's also kind of a waste, since they only apply for the first 8% of the fight or so.
Considering how punishing this fight is for getting hit, it just feels kind of cheap when the lack of visibility screws me over, often costing me a good fight because of health and adrenaline loss. It's also just weird aesthetically to have lasers appearing out of nowhere.

Although torches do help with this, the fight is at a point where you'll spend a lot of the time off the ground. Also, Calamity bosses tend to be less irritating than the vanilla ones by not requiring you to do annoying things like light up everything, which is always really nice, and I don't think it should be abandoned completely for a trick section.

or actually I think it's just the fact that it's not a big deal

She's visible if you have Hunter or enough torches or use the minimap
or debuffing her with Ichor or any fire DoTs...

Add some chat message when she enrages. I didn't even know you were supposed to fight her underground until I looked at the wiki, which lead to a lot of deaths.

Nerf the charge attack. Maybe make her start he charges slowly but pick up speed. Her large size, contact damage, and speed make the charge attack overshadow all the other attacks. Each of my deaths to this boss has been caused by the charge attack. Maybe even disable the charges completely on her second phase to focus more on her other attacks

To make up for #2, buff her projectile attacks, since they're all weak. The plague stingers are easy to dodge; maybe make them leave trails of contaminated gas. The nuke barrages are also easy to dodge, so increase the speed of the nukes and make her fire more during the charges themselves.
tbh for #1, just make the boss summon say smth about her enraging on surface in the tooltip
or just make it only usable in underground jungle idk
Well I think it's intended to make the player choose whether they prefer the tight arena or rapid attack spam
And the tooltip can easily get missed; most people just ignore it
So I think it'd be better to have her just warn players when she enrages
players usually dont miss stuff like "Recommended to fight in the underground"
because if the tooltip is really small, they just read it

Make blizzard and sandstorms have more spawn rates And like how sandstorms push you in normal make blizzards slow you in normal (i know there is slowens in deathmode) and make sandstorms and blizzards buff their biome mobs Reason: Beacus farming sand elemenatal and ice golems is easy but takes sometime but if spawn rates are increesed there will be more gloems and sand elemntals but it will be harder to kill them becuse other enemies might kill and they will be stronger

Can I suggest for Deep Wounder to be sold after Calamitas instead of Plantera since the weapon is abyss-themed? Defeating Plantera doesn't let abyss enemies drop Lumenyl or anything anymore and now the boss has nothing to do with the abyss, so it'd make more sense for this to be after Calamitas like the rest of the abyss weapons

Make Deep Wounder sold after Calamitas has been defeated instead of Plantera
Reason: Defeating Calamitas is the only way to get Lumenyl and Depth Cells. Now that defeating Plantera doesn't cause Abyss enemies to drop Lumenyl or anything anymore, this boss has nothing to do with the Abyss, so it makes more sense for this weapon to be locked behind Calamitas like the rest of the hardmode abyss-themed weapons

Make sandstorms and blizzards buff their mobs and increase spawn rates in hardmode .Reason: It is really easy to farm the sand elemental and the ice golem but if spawn rates are increased they will be tougher and you will have to deal with other enemies before fighting them

No it is really easy you can simply make a small platform from soild blocks and leave a 1 block hole and have a yoyo or a piercing weapon and you can kill alot of ice golems easily and the sand elemental can be killed easily with ranged weapons becuse you see where he will attack

Buff direct weapon drops from bosses, and to compensate increase their rarity.
Calamity currently suffers from a seldom discussed issue of boss weapon bloat. Think about what usually happens when you open a boss treasure bag: sometimes you'll get a weapon you were really hoping for, and then you stash away 2-5 other weapons that spat out and don't really serve any purpose, even for the classes they were made for. In essence, this makes sense -- bosses are pretty much required, so you're not going out of your way and putting in extra effort to get these weapons. Therefore, they shouldn't be as strong, which creates the issue at hand.
My proposal for resolving this issue is to buff these weapons, either by making them more interesting or just making them stronger, but making them less likely to be obtained. Currently, you can typically wind up with 2-4 weapons dropped from any given boss treasure bag for multiple classes. Either these droprates can be reduced to having an average of one or two weapons, or forcing one weapon to drop from the given available pool, like Moonlord. At first glance this might sound taxing, but remember, the goal is that these weapons should be much more impactful after these changes. Instead of rolling the dice for the one good weapon out of 7, you'll be getting one weapon out of the 7 good ones.
I know this change is a little controversial since it may inadvertently increase the possible grind for players, and some weapons like Entropy's Vigil and Staff of the Mechworm might become more elusive than they are already. Feel free to propose ideas to help combat those weaknesses.

why: well every other class have an item from calamity in that bag rogue having the throwing bricks and summoner having the relatively new wulfrum drones as previously it had the slime staff, it would make sense if the melee ranger and mage starting item would also be a calamity item.
