Make an upgrade to the Staff of the Frost Hydra using Endothermic Energy.

Summoner has extremely little variety with weapons and gear available in late-game and it really starts to show after the Devourer of Gods' defeat, what with only one summon weapon being between DoG and Yharon (and being a direct DoG drop, at that). Granting an alternative weapon choice for reaching such a major progression stage will help to ease the lack of options for summoner in late-game and thus make the class that little bit better for actually playing the game with.
(Also, every other Biome Chest weapon from vanilla has an upgrade at some point in the game. Might as well make it a full set.)

sentries could potentially be easier since you don't necessarily have to program shit for them to do while idle or while trying to yeet towards the player
(which is something a typical minion does have to have code for)

it's once you start getting into the actual fighting behavior of a summon that you might encounter some issues
You have to learn how to make projectiles aim at smth
Which is often done with the all reliable destination point minus origin point, then normalize then multiply

I think the harder part comes with attempting to make a summon unique
because while there is absolutely room for plenty of creativity, the question mainly comes when you start considering the ability to raise multiple copies of the same summon
something I often have trouble with is where the line has to be drawn with giving unique abilities to summons which can be summoned many times at once
How about sentries that attack by summoning minions
These wouldn't go further than a set distance from the sentry, and depending on what the minions in question do maybe the minions per sentry could be tied to your minion count
Or alternatively, you could use a sentry slot to either summon a new sentry with the base amount of minions or make an existing sentry summon more minions

Here's a quick suggestion idea that I had, thoughts?
Plague Enemy Drops: Considering that the Plague Enemies are all variants of vanilla jungle enemies, it doesn't make sense that they don't retain their drops. Listed Below are the drops from the plague enemies vanilla counterparts that I believe should be given to the plague enemies.
- Pestilent Slime: Murky Paste
- Plagueshell: Turtle Shell
- Viruling: Beetle Juice

of course it doesn't, but the Bride does have a drop which is why it's fine that shes a rare enemy whereas the Bohldhor doesn't, so giving it a drop or making it more threatening will make the Rarity of the Bohldhor more justified

I'd also liked to have added Solar-Tablet Fragments and Lihzahrd Power Cells to their drop pool, but the other 2 Temple enemies already drop those so it'd be redundant

dumb icky sugg time: Make Staff of the Mechworm craftable with cosmilite and moon event materials.
Staff of the mechworm is the only summoner weapon after DoG until 1st phase yharon is defeated. This means that if a summoner doesn’t get the weapon, they have to fight DoG again with almost identical gear as the first time, only difference being a few accessories. Forcing to farm a boss for a weapon in that manner is essentially forcing to repeat the boss. This can be fixed by making it craftable in a similar fashion to other cosmilite weapons.
How about we add post dog summons instead

they have a fucking fat sine wave for movement and they're huge

instakill nature would be more workable if the Infernadoes themselves weren't capable of covering over half a 1080p screen with their movement on the higher segments
(and you're much more often going to be grazing the higher half of these 'nadoes than laying low)
so two solutions would be to either
- add minimap icons to these 'nadoes in particular, or
b) make the Arena Infernadoes in particular, at least, have a much less fat sine wave for movement

one issue is that --- because unlike SCal, Yharon's arena is more of a makeshift one with two columns of projectiles blocking the sides --- you cannot actually see where the "arena" starts or stops horizontally with the minimap

See the problem with that is it would force people to kill pre-boss enemies with endgame gear and that’s as fun as blood moon farming for bloodflare armor
