My suggestion would be a little weird. To make her an NPC, you need to use calamitous essences to make her an NPC when sheâs at 1% health instead of dealing the killing blow. She could function like a companion (similar to minions but will not desummon after you die), also selling the items that she dropped.

Well, Frost and Pumpkin Moons are both triggerable events; the only counterpart that the Solar Eclipse has is the Blood Moon
They're very much separate, I would say.
I wouldn't be opposed to adding a miniboss to the blood moon, but turning it into a wave combat deal or an invasion, and just letting that appear randomly seems like a massive dick move
Perhaps a middle ground could be reached by simply adding in the wave system after Plantera or so, where the other random event becomes relevant.

My reasoning being that you'd have a decent enough weapon at this point to not be spawn killed
well, the idea is to make it very threatening like the frost moon or invasions when you first can fight them

making it randomized along with a blood moon would also make it tougher to reliably grind for materials, the way I'm thinking of how that could possibly work, and ultimately just end up feeling like a big ol' "fuck you" to players
Thing is, a blood moon is never too much of an issue to be considered a "fuck you". After all, you can simply escape it by heading underground, or just turn it off by using daylight or the cosmolight.
This applies to the solar eclipse as well.
And do mind that adding a powerful miniboss like the other moons would, by logic, mean that said miniboss would have to drop huge amounts of blood orbs.
consider, I didn't even so much as know that cosmolight existed 'til literally just now when you were talking about it and I looked it up

And said enemies should receive a buff late game so it isn't just "oh yay, new potion materials"

my suggestions are just low-grinding alternatives, not replacements.
i've seen a lot of people who complains about the grind in calamity, after all.
those people are stupid, the grind in calamity is nothing compared to any major grind
some even quit for this reason.
but yeah, valor already exists, so a post plant dash alt is useless
in order for valor to be actually resonably obtainable, people must change the ankh shield to a frigid bulwark.
seriously that thing is a godsend.

calamity does have some grinding issues, mainly with lategame bosses(wanting a certain wep that is only a boss drop from DoG, per se), but compared to vanilla ankh shield and cellphone, those are nothing

Hey, sorry to interupt, this is something I've asked about in the past but I've finally finished the full idea and wanted to ask for feedback before I actually suggest it
Grazing
A Graze system that adds 250-300 rage (maybe amount could scale to damage) for projectiles you narrowly dodge buring boss fights.
Since I have no knowledge of Terraria coding, I don't know exactly how this could be implemented, here's one way that I think it could be done:
The system adds a secondary "Hitbox" to specific projectiles (or the boss itself, depending on the boss of course. Ex. Eye of Cthulu) that is slightly bigger than the standard hitbox that damages you, adding a set amount of rage when you "touch" it.
To avoid basically just facetanking the projectiles while still getting the "graze rage", there could a set cooldown or delay in time the rage is actually added, if damage is taken in that spam of time, only regular rage would be added instead.
: This could add a bit more of a skill factor to boss fights and nohit runs "high risk, high reward" system other than adrenaline.

And yes, while grazing is in many bullet-hell games, I don't know of any that actually have gravity and physics tied to it.

What do you think of a glass cannon accesory, maybe made from something like the reaper tooth necklace and determination breaker? Or maybe with the shark tooth necklace so it can be gotten much earlier. i am thinking high armor penetration with reduced invuln frames on enemies, but another downside that isnt just instant death after taking damage so it isnt broken on no hits
