i might list a couple examples of weapons that have underwhelming stealth strikes that could benefit from having something more akin to shinobi

they're actually somewhat fast to a degree when porting hell isnt a thing
cal updates are very fast when they aren't ports tbh

Armor that nullifies all your defense but when you get hit you lose money equal to the damage you took in copper coins, and only lose HP when you have no coins in your inventory

I strongly dislike vanilla mage
Itโs (mostly) unique obtainment methods and complexity when compared to ranged
Almost none of itโs drops are crafted, and each of them tends to be more unique than your typical vanilla ranged weapon
True, on paper it's amazing and getting the items are fun. The gameplay is just bad due to mana.
I did enjoy having to go out of my way for items like the Razorpine and Specter Staff.
Any particular one you liked? I think the crystal serpent is a fun one.
Rainbow Gun and Magnet Sphere
Mostly for their weapon complexity
Crystal Serpent and Demon Scythe take the crown for obtainment method
Magnet sphere is so fun, wish it had a little more playtime.
I have fond memories of Nightglow and Laser Machine Gun
They're not the most mechanically involved weapons, but I just like them
Night glow is also very fun
Why demon scythe? I found it to be pretty basic.
Itโs a basic weapon drop that can also be gotten at the start of the game if youโre willing to brave it
I found it to be good, but my post golem memories of mage are terrible.

I understand that the classes have to be simplified when youโre going for this big of a mod, but it feels like nothing has been given to mhage in exchange for butchering itโs identity

The Astralachnea Staff is a Hardmode wand that is dropped from Astralachneas after Astrum Aureus has been defeated. It fires 4-7 homing astral fangs that inflict the Astral Infection debuff on their target. The player can tighten the spread of the projectiles by aiming the cursor further away. The fangs will not pass through blocks.
Then again, easier said than done

More unique obtainment methods means more unique sources
it not having much complexity is fine, but nearly everything being crafted or being an upgrade to something makes it just another damage type that you dont have to pay attention to
