My favourite way is fishing in the sulphuric sea using master bait and the golden fishing rod. Every cast you get 10-30 planty mush which will sell for tons of gold coins
its one of the best ways to get money before youre strong enough to farm bosses efficiently for their drops.

- Run to the left side of the world while collecting every single surface chest you find for can of worms.
-
- once you reach the sulphuric sea your going to want to build a platform, wait for a trasher to spawn, attack it until it gets low (dont kill it) wait for 2nd trasher to spawn and kill the original one. It will spawn and angler that the 2nd trasher will then kill and the angler will drop the golden fishing rod.

- Use the fishing rod and the bait you gathered on the way to fish for the sulphurous crates (sonar potion and crate potions help alot here) and then you can simply open the crates for a chance to drop master bait
