@hasty violet bloodborne is extremely fast paced and smooth compared to dark souls. Not having a shield to your disposal means you have to rely on your reflexes and enemy patterns

It's an excellent game. Especially the DLC

Healing works via blood vials, which you'll harvest from killed enemies (this might sound annoying, but the droprate is very high)

Instead of the set amount of healing (estus) you get and upgrade in dark souls

The weapon variety is rather slim, but the transformation all weapons have make it a way more fun and engaging experience, allowing you to perform more and pretty cool combo's

You parry using a gun

Which uses quicksilver bullets

Which you also harvest from the bodies of enemies

Equip load is not a thing in bloodborne, so you don't have to worry about what you can use/wear
