that was indeed me, that campaign was a bit of a mess for me lol XD

i deployed, drove around a bit looking with my optics upgrade, mostly saw nothing. Flanked around to pick you up, could shoot nothing on the way out or back because it was all in melee, everything else in range was dead from arty or orbitals before we got close. Got you back to us which was good.
then when everyone moved a single tile forwards from where our line had been since the start.
4 of us were blown up by artillery on the same tile, completely out of range of any enemy to fire back on.
(which wasn't actually the tile i was supposed to be on, but apparently if id been where i was supposed to, they woulda just shot me there too, and also killed you coz it was where you were standing 😅 coz artillery were even more op and dealth dmg to everything in the same tile too)
so yeah a bit of a clusterfuck

I mean maybe limiting the use of something like a kinetic projectile dropper could allow spaceships in orbit to affect ground combat more directly. And have like a min ship size for that.

Yeah. If you could somehow refill atmos fuel you could periodically dip down fire and then return up but we don’t have a way to refuel atmos fuel yet which is disappointing. So a dedicated low orbital weapon support platform is very limited.

I really liked how in C2 as a fighter, if you positioned well and correctly predicted enemy intentions, you could intercept enemy aircraft for 3 kills in a turn

You guys are the last four to sign up for either the combat or logi groups. I am assuming the MBTs and artillery would like to go with combat and the truck would like to go with logi, but if I’m wrong let me know.
Also I’m putting out another call for faster vehicles to run defense for the logi runs if we need to leave the combat group. Just one or two of the skirmishers to buy us town while we GTFO, not trying to be in any extended fights

If it’s referring to infantry it will always so “can carry x FS”. Like for VTOL, it’s 6 FS so a full infantry squad. But for a light vehicle it’s 4 FS, so only a smaller squad

2 light vehicles to transport 1 infantry (8 slots, 6 infantry for a 4/2 split)
Your LOCKING those two light vehiclesi nto moving together (unless one dies)
Also I would say you can't cheese the system, IE moving 6 light vehicles and 1 infantry with 1 dude in each light vehicle so that if 1 gets hit, its only 1 fs loss.
FS is exclusively used for infantry types

TLDR We can't split the group up after we land. And on the strategic level map, we ALL have to move together. So if we say... 10 turns into the game found ourselves with no supply left, and no way to get some delivered to us (Which the game is very low on players able to arrange that), we want to be able to go and get supplies ourselves without having to abandon the position or push entirely. Currently chatted about logistics split allows us to send a logistics team (and some defenders), a total of 15 players or so, to go and fetch us more supplies.
Ideally, it wont ever be needed or used. BUT if we run dry and we do not have an airfield on map or a task force dropping on us to delivery supplies, we have the option to get more.
Our plan in general as a big large scale thing is to defend the sector described in #campaign-briefing-room
Our group in particular has chosen the objective “take Hill Mine and hold it” because the bots were fighting are likely going to try to take it to produce more bots

Yeah, Bots invade planets, take resource rich areas, and then use those to produce new bots to take over the whole planet (according to base info in briefing room, which may not be super accurate). So going off of that, we decided to take the north Hill Mine and enforce it/adapt as needed from there.
We do know, as of the start of the game, there are some civilians or local forces hauled up inside the mine. So we may be releiving them or rescuing them, or avenging them. 😄
The intention is to be on the front!

The limited weapons (LRMs and I think the extra AA missiles on fighters) come in a box and you only get that number per campaign, no small supply restore.
I'm not sure if they are registered for the campaign, but we do have a 1 remaining HellBomb from Campaign 1 on a bomber which hasn't been used yet. I forget the damage on that, but it was basically a 'fuck this hex in particular' bomb.
We also have 1 Hoverboat or whatever it's called from C3 xD
I wanna see just what kind of fortress we can build ourselves, hopefully it will be glorious

Been quite focused on Operation "Free the Starport". What are y'all about?
Were taking the north road and focusing on Hill Mine where we will liberate the mine, rescue or avenge the local forces and populace wholed up in it, and then adapt from there. Idealy advanced to H-H and then the town with another supporting bg or, as is seeming increasingly likely. Make the Maginot line and hold till relief comes (I.E. reinfrcing federation fleet or whatever our win condition is this time)

The logi and Combat column is for the BG split. I.E.
It'll matter where you post your turns, but we are otherwise working together the full time. It exists so we have the option to grab supplies if we need it without abandoning a position.

Unfortunately ,we do not have an orbital attachment, nor are we loaded into a task force soooooooooo ALAS, we are hitching a ride on NPC transports so, no drop pods. 😦
Mechs caaaaan technically be loaded onto a truckbed or a HAT, but I'd recommend just walking as your faster then the truck and the hat wouldn't be able to drop you off without an airfeild, and we do not know if one exists where were going.

If you have a gun, you can fire once, this does not cost any speed.

it is a regular action that takes 0.5 speed.
Which since arty is immobile whe nset up... and and fireing is a PRIMARY action... they can reload with half their speed of 1 and still have room for 1 other assorted action.

So like... it doesnt make suuuper sense for the truck crew to do it for an arty, but it is nice that the option is there.
It'll matter more for other units which have limited ammunition weapons and might be doing more actions.
EXAMPLE A light mech with a cannon expends its ammunition ebhind lines and is injured. It needs to BOOK IT OUT to friendlies to survive. It uses all of its movement to do so, and does not have the 0.5 speed to reload it's gun. The Truck crew reload it's gun and the mech will have it available to fire that turn (presuming it was out of ammo at the start of it's run.)

Definitely an oversight. Firing the cannon takes a primary action. The bridge rules are in there because it SPECIFICALLY came up in C3 and we had to make up rules on the fly for it.

Yes, if your attacking, that is a PRIMARY. You can only attack once per turn.
EXCEPTION if you have multible mounts on a medium or heavy mech. Both mounts seem to be able to fire, but its still 1 action and 1 'attack' order perse, from the unit

Each unit only gets 1 attack roll per round. The dice rolled are representative of the weapon system or (Force Strength) FS of a unit. For example, if a unit has 3 weapon systems in range like a heavy mech, then they will be rolling 3 dice. Units can only fire at units that are in range and in line of sight for direct fire weapons. Only Ground units can be flanked. Hitting the enemy from a direct rear shot ignores armor on vehicles and defense from “Dig In” action on infantry. So flank those tanks!
So yes, if you have 3 weapon mounts, each with a light laser weapon, then you would roll 3 dice.

Medics are not primary targets (unless there is no one else around). So long as you play a little carefulyl, you'll probably make it through.

Hey lads. Just to clarify as an IFV how do I load up infantry and or supplies if that's an option. Just in the load section on the spread sheet?
I have someone in mind I've talked to already just need to know how to do it
You would load up during the actual game but this sets our intended load up

So, how exactly does this load up sheet work?
I'm not sure how it was intended originally, but the 3rd tab is showing all of our logistics folks (Aside from the hats for some reason). As a medic, just reach out to one of the players with capacity to carry infantry and see if you can catch a ride with them.
I don't want tac-coms to just assign people... off chance someone gets shot down on deployment or something. I don't want feelings hurt by someone saying 'well I didn't choose to be on that transport'
Basically just drop a ping on whoever youd like to ride into battle,
And if they say yep,
One of you can adjust the sheet to show it

If a vtol or IFV wants one of em (or Light vehicle in the case of engineers/medics) they can just swap it out for their name.

Maybe not both in 1 transport. They're important. If we have the space to spread the PAI around it would be the cautiously right thing to do.
