I have had an issue starting roughly 4mo after purchasing an XFX 6800, conveniently just outside of the scope of the no sweat Amazon warranty and I’m just not interesting in initiating the RMA process.

While under load and more commonly in graphics intensive titles, my display will cut black, my motherboard GPU light will turn on, and the system will require a hard restart before I can interact with it again. Audio often continues, and for all intents and purposes the system appears to keep running despite the display being cut. I can’t track an error in the registry to pin down exactly what’s happening.

I have attempted DDU multiple times, thermals are god tier 30 idle 60 under load, I have disabled windows driver updates, I have done registry edits, I have disabled hardware acceleration on everything across the board, I have tried undervolting, I have tried overclocking, I have swapped motherboards, I have swapped power supply’s, I think I have tried every little comment on the topic posted within the last 2 years and nothing is working.

The only thing that has given me an inkling of breathing room is by undervolting the card, which is suspect to me because the entire system at max is probably only taking 700w on a 1000w power supply.

I’m at my wit’s end and this post is my final cry for help before I cave and buy a $600 refurbished 3080 because it’s the only thing on the market right now irl or online that’s not a severe downgrade in performance. Please help me. 🙏

From what you’ve described I think your only options are to rma the card or buy a new. If it were me I’d go the rma route
