can you describe "affecting" a little more?

#

i haven't had steam "affecting" controller input tho i don't use controllers much

and I try to stay inside steam

Steam is somehow changing inputs on my controller, like L1 now does what circle should, X does nothing, etc.

#

It works fine within steam, but I try to play something on gog or an emulator (often while waiting for steam updates/downloads) and it doesn’t work properly

hmm and when you close steam it stops?

#

can you please check the buttons in the windows controller panel?
open windows search and search for controller

Closing steam fixes the problem if I also restart the game and reconnect the controller

#

I’ll check that windows controller panel when I get home tonight, haven’t looked at it

ahh

#

what controller are you using?

#

afaik steam has some default mappings for specific controllers to provide better compatibility in steam games
