It's only been a week and I've already felt rather overwhelmed yet blue. So many shifts are happening to me at once. Not only i'd have to get used to the studying lifestyle that i haven't experienced since 5 years ago, i have to get used to live in Germany, buying groceries, talking with other Germans, cooking daily, booking appointments with officials and doing paperwork. Back at my country, food is so cheap, I can still save my money while buying food. Meanwhile, I'd be afraid to spend a single euro on non necessities. We don't need to make appointments for doctors, banks, and other companies. We'd just get in, do our business, and get out with our business complete.

My food is boring because i can't cook well. My mind is cluttered with conflicts between my needs and wants. Not even doing my wants is fun as if i have my needs nagging on me. My days also feel a lot slower, contemplative, boring. I feel like i need to eat, drink, or do something to not feel dread.

Any tips, guidance, advices?

It's not abnormal to feel a lot of anxiety right after a big move. Jet lag might also play into it, and being isolated from family and friends. You might look into some Sprachcafes or meet-ups for immigrants. Make sure you're sleeping right. And just try to keep it up. After a few weeks things with burocratic stuff should calm down, your accounts will be set up, and you'll get into a routine with school 😉

This advice probably isn't super helpful, I guess my main message is that you're not alone feeling this way. I also had a lot of worries and felt out of place after immigrating. But it got better all the time ❤️

i had this for a couple weeks when i first moved to Vienna. learn one or two recipes, and cook them and meal prep. id just eat yogurt for breakfast with oats and shit, sandwiches for lunch, and basically only spaghetti with meat and sauce for dinner cause it was so easy to meal prep the meat and sauce.
the other things you kinda just get used to over time although it’s really fkn annoying and overwhelming at the start
also what really helped was finding friends
