I just did my B1 exam and all was good. The only thing that’s keeping me back is that I have an accent due to me not pronouncing words correctly and hence having to repeat myself on the street sometimes.
And last time it happened, was during a medical emergency, and I don’t want healthcare delayed for anyone!

I watch videos and I try to verbalise and repeat the speakers, but I am still lacking in some regards . I also record my voice and try to listen and correct it.

Does anyone has any good experience to share regarding how they were able to make their accent more “clear”, since I know removing an accent is an unreasonable endeavour ?

I think the main thing for this situation specifically would be to identify which sounds are making you harder to understand. For example, is it vowels? Is it some specific consonants? Is it the intonation of the word? Because it sounds like you're not concerned about having a perfect accent, but simply one that's easy to communicate with, so you can save yourself some effort by identifying which sounds you should work on.

Which accent do you have? By which I mean to ask: what's your native language and therefore which sounds are unusual/hard for you to do?

I think there's probably videos on YouTube explaining how to correct for accents from the major other languages, certainly there's stuff coming from a native English speaker
