if you're just trying to pass the exam, it's a matter of grinding out vocabulary and using grammar to connect the dots together in repetition as to how words and such connect so that it becomes natural. there's not really a hack or quick-way-to-learn other than memorization and practice until it feels natural

My advice is always try and put your knowledge in practice: think of as many situations as you can and think "How would I phrase that in German" and don't forget to expose yourself as much as you can to the language while reading, listening and even talking.
