Use a dictionary (pons, linguee, wiktionary (you may find this last one most helpful because it has entries for inflected forms)) to find out what single words mean. You can also put entire sentences through deepl.com to find out what they mean. However, you won't be able to find out whether your German sentences are correct by putting them through deepl, because it's very, very good at making (English) sense of German gibberish. (As a side note: there is no way of getting around the boring task of learning vocab when learning a language. Learning a few words every day instead of cramming on the evening before the exam would be an excellent thing to do in the future.) ;)
